Important match on an important weekend in terms of who our top four competitors are playing. A good result for us and poor results for the RS at lunchtime and Arsenal tomorrow against City could re-shape the top 4 for the run-in. Mata joins Smalling and Jones on the sick-list after groin surgery, Ibra and Herrera are out for the last game of their respective bans. Remote chance that Pogba might be included while Rooney is ready to rejoin the team after injury. Kick-off at 3pm
At last we are getting some decent football. It never rains it pours. We have 9 matches coming up in one month. And after these ****ing useless internationals, injuries short and long term have started adding up. If we come out of this month unscathed and still in contention for the Europa and CL place I'd be most surprised. This will test JM 's mettle. As ever, today's match is an absolute must win just to keep going. A draw is useless and equivalent to a defeat.
Good job we got rid of Schweinsteiger, can't think how he could possibly have contributed towards the seasons end. Anyway, now Liverpool have won we also have to. If we don't that's it, forget it.
Giggs said after the England game "you don't have to pick a player, you just have to play the ball in the right area" We seem to do neither. Story of our season. Same old sh1t, our final ball, our quality of passing and movement in the final third, it's all fcking woeful. It wouldnt look out of place in League 2 tbh. And yet for the first two thirds of the pitch we play well. Just the final third we're absolutely clueless. And nobody within the club can see it.
Another snorefest. We'll soon have 101% possession and still have nothing to show for it. Things are so bad I would even bring Rooney on
You're relying on winning the Europa now, Top 4 has to be out of reach? Not good enough from Jose and his millions, simply not good enough. If this was Moye's he'd start getting hounded out the club now.
I think that is the 11th home game that we have drawn this season. Dreadful. Had we won just half of those we would be challenging for the title. Looking at the table it is fair to say that we are relying on City dropping points during April, rather than the RS...........City do have a congested fixture list, more difficult that ours it could be said - Could be a lot riding on the derby game on 27th
It's alright folks, all that matters is the result People need to start realising scraping the odd win here and there means fck all. It's the PERFORMANCES which lead to longevity and consistency when it comes to results. That's what we should be building with the players we've bought. Choosing to take off Mkhytarian for Rooney while leaving Fellaini on the pitch... against West Brom in a game you're dominating... and that you absolutely have to win. What a complete coward and a cun.t Mourhino is An absolute shyster!
To be honest this was a predictable result against a very pragmatic manager. He had no hesitation nor shame of playing 11 players behind the ball. We on the other hand were toothless. Those who say Pogba and Zlatan don't contribute will now realise that they are certain starters for us. As are Herrera and Mata. I think those RS fans who think like you that they have the CL sewn up, will be having premature jizzing as always. Their fixtures are the toughest they could have for them. They need open playing teams like Arsenal, Spurs, City Everton (top half sides) to get good results. Those ****ers who have no hesitation in parking the bus will get lots of joy from them.
We've faired no better with Pogba and Zlatan either. We are tactically inept in the final third tbh. And Mourinho doesn't seem to even acknowledge there's a problem there, let alone capable of rectifying it.
Right now it is results that matter, not performances. If we'd played brilliant and still drawn it wouldn't have made a jot of difference long term. Although I now agree that, with the benefit of hindsight, that draw v Stoke will in fact make **** all difference by the end of the season!
That's so true, especially when the 3 points were vital. I'd like to hear the pro-jose fans explanation to this....rather than them just having a pop at you Trebs for being honest
I know you're wumming Sky, but the sad fact is that this ISN'T about the game today. We've been clueless in the final third ALL season. This is an inherent problem in our style of play. Ofcourse, having one of the lowest goals scored in the league is nothing to do with creating chances, it's all just "bad luck" or "the opposition goalie having a good game". That's why we've drawn a dozen games this season.
Of course we didn't have Herrera and Mata too. I am not saying we would definitely have won with these 4 on the pitch but there would have been options. With the injuries and suspensions we have and the number of matches we will be playing, I said it will be mighty difficult to be in contention for 4th. Today I am not sure what he could done differently aside from starting Rooney. We need a goal scorer in the style of RVN, Cole Yorke
