You don't think he was interfering with play? What was he doing there then? And was he wearing his invisible cape because I'm pretty sure he caught the eye of our defenders and goalkeeper.
He's interefering as much as anyone else in the box. I don't agree with the current offside rules but, as they are, I don't think the decision was right. 2-2. Four great finishes. Maybe should be 2-3.
A lack of red card offences in the main. That and the fact you aren't the referee so the other team are allowed on the pitch.
As a spectacle, a very good cup final I thought, especially for the neutral. We were outplayed for most of the match, but we won and in a cup final that's all that matters. Ibrah with the goals deserves credit. And well played Southampton, the manager got his tactics spot on for the most part and I wouldn't have begrudged them the win tbh.
Starting to ****ing love Zlatan. Southampton played really well but there ****e defending has cost them. Another trophy in the cabinet!!
Cracking match, good win. Saints were great value and very unlucky. The big man was the difference, what a ****ing player. Top man.
Current rules leave it pretty open tbh - interfering with an opponent by obstructing their vision or otherwise distracting them is an offside offence. As Chief says, it's hard to argue a player can be in the six yard box in the middle of the goal and not distract someone on the opposing side. Had Bertrand not been there, then Valencia wouldn't have been drawn to him and thus could have made a tackle on Gabbiadini. That said, it could well have gone either way and I would have been aggrieved if we'd had a goal ruled out for that. Tho' Stephens was very lucky not to walk for going in studs up on Martial, so that does even itself out to some extent.
As I thought a tough match. The Saints has had 2 weeks to prepare whilst united had 3 matches in between. The difference as I suspected was Zlatan. He is the free kick king and puts in headers. The player of the season. ****ing Europa guaranteed. Not sure it's a good thing but European football is important for a club like United. The RS are already crying their crocodile tears
So we have a guaranteed Europa League spot for next year, how does this work out for the other teams looking for a Europa League place from their PL position, the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal I mean.
