Well he knows Div. 1. Not how to get out of it, but at least he knows it.

Panic stations all round Bluey - especially Forest where Warburton has a hell of a task to shape them up and avoid the drop.

I wanted Rowett in the summer when Slade was pushed upstairs (and out) but it looked like he just got a new deal with Brum. We got Trollope instead and there was still a chance of getting him when he was ridiculously sacked by Brum around the same time as Trollope - not sure of the exact timing though.

OK, we've got Colin now but I reckon if we'd got Rowett instead of Trollope in the summer, we'd be in the same or better position than now with or without Colin - and that's without going through the bloody heartache of that dreadful first half of the season.

Colin is a great manager in a crisis but it was a crisis brought on by the club themselves. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we've got him now, but I'd just have soon not needed him.

I agree, Rowett was an opportunity missed and to coin a much used phrase "one for the future" as well.

He played for Derby and lives in Derby so it could be a match made in ............... Derby.

Trollop was always going to be promoted and in all honesty I don't think too many fans were surprised or unhappy about it back then.

Plus Rowett being popular with the Blues fans having played for them was always likely to stay at St Andrews. Quite why they axed him is a mystery.

I reckon (again with hindsight) that had we got NW pre season he'd have made us a top 6 club.

shame they sack at the drop of a hat..............seems Warnock doesn't give 2 fks if tan sacks him mind he gets a pay off for fking off, and the next job offer will end up on his plate without even looking.

Here's one right up your alley aber, and also very appropriate to the thread.

Who sang "tired of doing day jobs with no thanks for what I do"?
