There's all sorts of permutations here isn't there ? Lennon has choices - Spuds, Albion and us are without managers - if Ponchetinno goes to White Hart Lane that means there's a vacancy at St Mary's, Lambert could leave Villa and go to Celtic - Malky could be considering Celtic now too, so anything could happen here.
Neil Adams odds have dropped alot over last hour... This will be McNally's biggest and costliest mistake if we hire Adams.
I would have thought it'd be a done deal last week if it was Adams, I hope it's Malky myself, Lennon is a gamble.
I think had we chosen Adams it would have been announced by now. He could end up being the Technical Director though.
following what I said earlier about Lennon leaving, the announcement has been made quicker than expected which makes me think that either McKay or Moyes who have both been interviewed this week have accepted the Celtic job, McKay is said to be 50/50 between Norwich and Celtic. If Celtic end up with McKay I could see Norwich approach Lennon ASAP
If you're going to make a claim like that, at least spell his name right. I've heard that we (Norwich) are Mackay's preferred choice. I hope I've heard right; would prefer him over Lennon (or anyone else, for that matter).
Lennon bookies favourite, ahead of Adams and then Mackay. If it ends up as Adams the board are going to look very silly.
Surely it won't be Adams. If it is, I'll be behind him and the club, don't get me wrong, but there'll be many questions about the board's decision making. I personally wouldn't touch Adams with a barge pole.
I can't see the appointment taking this long if it was Adams. He made it obvious he wanted it, so if he was who the board believed was the best candidate, then he'd have been in charge by now, surely? I think he'll be involved somewhere, more likely as number 2 than technical director as a coaching role will help him develop his own managerial career more. Thinking back to the Radio Norfolk interview on Monday, I doubt Steve Clarke is in the running. Whilst obviously the calibre of manager we can attract has dropped because of relegation, he was available in January and the board didn't think he was good enough then, and he's not as well suited to a job in the championship as he was in the Prem.
Malky has moved from 1/7 this morning out to 2/1 this afternoon, which is quite a shift! Lennon is evens favorite with Adams 6/4. More interesting is that Malky isn't amongst the favourites for either the Celtic job (13/2) or West Brom where he is as long as 16/1. Where is he off to then?
If they thought he was the best candidate he would be in charge by now but no one expects him to be first choice. That doesn't mean if won't be Adams though. It just means they didn't get their first choice.
Every now and then the board have a habit of seriously disappointing and making catastrophic decisions, we all have long memories about how many times they've made poor decisions and screwed the fans over. I think they had someone lined up and something has cropped up along the way, like a better an offer from a premiership club or a disagreement on funds etc, end of last week and on Monday wasn't it a couple of days? If nothing happens tomorrow then somethings up behind the scenes.
