.........after being sacked by Eastleigh. Has a proven record of fiefighting. Would an early morning dip with MA at the Inn on the Lake perk up the squad? Comments please.
Exactly. There was some stuff I didn't like about MA and those points I was very vocal about, however, i also liked him as a manager, we all have our faults, maybe me more than most But all said and done MadDog got off to nothing more than a bad start that was gradually coming good. Whereas now, we got off to a bad start that is fast becoming worse!
m Most of MAs incredible 11 managerial appointments in 14 years were terminated for reasons which were either non football or non "on the pitch" reasons. His reputation at Gillingham were salvaged largely by the excellent work of Peter Taylor who turned things around from 2 wins in the first 11 matches. More of a parallel with Ranieri was the sacking of Taylor at the end of 2015 because his team of greenhorns lost twice in 8 days to all conquoring Bristol City (once in the Cup). From 1 Nov to £! Dec his team lost just twice in the league and secured a place in the regional final of the P Pot Trophy. Ironically PT's final two bits of the jigsaw were the signing of Marquis and Garmston who arrives after he had gone whereupon the team trashed most allcomers before JED arrived and ruined all the good work. Its about time Scally put some money aside for that statue of PT. No-one deserves it more.
Taylor only got Gills up because of Pulis players. Then left as he thought he could not keep us in the championship. Did rubbish everywhere else he managed after. Yes he did bring in some young players but was awful and we would of gone down if he continued. Dack would have been playing non league if Taylor was still here.
"Did rubbish everywhere else!!!!!!" 5 promotions with 4 different clubs Took Hull from tier 4 to tier 2 Got Leicester to top of Premiership Most successful England u 21 manager of all time in two separate spells (Far superior record to Darren Southgate) England Caretaker Manager Yeah...."Did rubbish everywhere"
Always been a fan of Peter Taylor since his early playing days. A pity he was never really given a proper chance at the 'highest' level.
