I hope they stay up! Just so they have the money to sign Tony Hibbert and a 35 yr. old Leighton Baines, possibly Tim Howard and we get the Derby's back, Honestly the last few years of derby's have been atrocious, I want to get a run of derby wins under our belt! I wanna break records, 20 wins home and away on the trot all with 5-0 results! something to really smash them with!
And Leicester are sliding dangerously. Has any team ever won the league and been relegated the following season?
mackems have won 4 games out of 23, 4 draws and 15 defeats from 23 - so 60% of the season gone. If you extrapolate that form, they pick up another 3 wins and 3 draws, so 12 points. with a five point gap to 17th it means Leicester, Boro and Swansea (as it stands) need roughly 8 points between now and the end of the season. I know our neighbours from the small town in Durham often pick up in the 2nd half of the season, but still a tough ask for them - their game away to Palace on Saturday is going to be massive especially with all the other sides around them playing teams in the top 6
Canny odds. 5/1 Sunderland to avoid. Hull, Middlesbrough, Leicester 50/1 Crystal Palace, Middlesbrough, Leicester 250/1 I have stuck a little bit on all 3 options. If I was going to say what I really think will happen then I think Sunderland, Hull and Middlesbrough are the most likely. But 7/2 is **** odds on what is a very tight race. I just think those three have done the least to help themselves. A lot will depend on Oviedo and Gibson having an impact - I think they might do ok though.
If it is Sunderland, Hull and Middlesbrough, there will be no close(ish) away games next season! or there will be loads
Put a bet on at the beginning of the season which nets me over £300 if mackems and smogs go down and we go up as champions.... the latter bit is pushing it a bit now..
They'll find a way, they're like the turd that won't flush. Just checking their fixtures, their last 4 games are: Bournemouth (H) Hull (A) Swansea (H) Chelsea (A) - Chelsea will have already won the title. They'll stay up, b*****ds!
