Both seem to have a decent game in them at times. Which one is more likely to **** things up? Love has more time to improve.
Love has the makings of a good full back, just needs the experience. Has pace, very good on the ball/control and is tough. Needs to improve crossing and dustribution though.... as does Jones
Our entire back line needs to improve on distribution, I lost count last night when there was time to pick a pass we just hoofed it up field inevitably to a Liverpool player and they were back on the attack. We must maintain control of the football, I learned that at School, yet we our lot seem happy to give it away.
There were a lot of times we played it out well. Then under more pressure they reverted to hoof ball, and without Big Vic that don't work. They need to have the confidence to be able to play it out over the majority of a game, esp if no target man to hit up top. Having a proper, steady midfield would help.
Love looks more of an actual 'footballer' than Billy Jones. If you dressed Billy up in our oppositions colours then we'd never actually know he was on our team because he never seems to pass to a red and white shirt!!
Love is definitely one for the future and i reckon he has less **** ups in him than Jones. Saying that, Jones has been OK this season so far.
And here was me thinking I was the only one who thought that!! Love is only a young lad but is looking like a good acquisition. Jones was highly rated at West Brom, has spent a large chunk of his Sunderland time in the treatment room!! Hopefully we're starting to see him return to the level he was at WBA as, when he's got support in front of him (i.e. not Januzaj or Khazri) he looks a decent full back - good as a wing back too although his distribution (as has been mentioned) has left a lot to be desired sometimes
TBH mate, i cringe when i see his name on the team sheet but fair play, he's been pretty decent so far this season, certainly a vast improvement from last season anyway.. Also Januzaj was pretty impressive yesterday as well, Moyes must have put a rocket up his arse? that pass to put JD through was sublime and they linked up very well, long may it continue mate.
Januzaj is a good player but seems to be when he wants it - he gave his all yesterday and got a fair few kicks for it too (with little help from the ref!) Certainly hoping for the partnership to develop.
Yep, even started the season as RB, but don't know whether DM doesn't rate him or sees him more of a wing back i dunno?
The answer to that, is as always, we don't know, some transparency in the murky world of football finance is needed. The fair play rules seem not to cover contract negotiations which we were told Maggie Burn was an expert, hope Bain is an improvement, his record north of the border says otherwise.
