A suggestion on another thread, by yours truly, worth a shot, I've set up an email address for anybody who may be locked out as the password reset function is kaput, if they send an email to the address, we can pass the details on to a mod who will escalate it through his chain of command...

    [email protected]

That's the email you wanna contact if you're a newby or a locked out oldie.

I'll give the login and password to Blunham cos he loves stuff like this, he did his own version once for new members and nobody turned up <laugh>

Worth stickying for a week to see if it works.

It's this new bloody phone I've got mate. I know, I know, a bad workman always blames his tools blah blah but it's really starting to piss me off now. :emoticon-0121-angry:emoticon-0121-angry:emoticon-0121-angry

One minute I'm typing in and the text is appearing on the screen the next nothing at all and I have to keep re-booting it!!

I whinged to the wife about it, she bought me it.

Well let's just say that wasn't the smartest thing I've ever done! :(

This of all threads should be stickied IMO. Especially compared to some of the **** stickied previously (not necessarily by you Blunham).

This board is crying out for new input IMO. Anything to assist with that is welcomed for me like.

I'm pretty sure a bulletin can be put up(not a thread) so it's at the top of the board's home page as an announcement. Hull board used to have their's activated to redirect new members to their forum rules. Don't know if it can still be done or if visitors can view it though.

    Good idea Tel.

We've been looking into this too and checking with brb what info he needs off new sign ups and those locked out to give them access. You'll need the new sign-ups to tell you the username they have chosen and the email address they signed up with for brb to activate their account. He has asked that no emails get published in posts though (even on the mod board) and that all requests are sent to him via PM to help keep people's info confidential. People still need to sign up as normal, even though it doesn't seem to work. It's not the sign up that doesn't work, but the activation of the account.

For those locked out, it mainly seems to happen when people change their registered email address. There might be issues with changing username too, though quite a few have changed username without any problems. For now, he is recommending that people try not to change their registered email address though.
