in "the new era" it is the least you would expect ... LEE TO OPENLY SAY I AM HAPPY HERE.. unless he has already told the players his intentions to stay

imagine Kodija playing for LEE again don't think he was flavour of the month before he left, being usurped by Tammy and second fiddle!

Well done Lee and how nice it is to hear real commitment from our boss. Is he listening to us or is it just the kind of person he is? He needs to prove himself in the managerial stakes if, in the future, he wants to manage a top club but I would prefer he stays and makes us a top club contender. I'm glad he has stepped up and put any rumours to rest about other opportunities, stating that he is very happy where he is down at Ashton Gate.

What a relief we aren't just hearing epithets but rather honest truth for once.

I hope he wasn't listening to some of us when he was playing - that could have scarred him forever!

I was always an admirer of Lee when he played for us, under what were very difficult circumstances, and the taunts he got were out of order.

LJ was a good player,if you look at results when he played in the city team they were far better than when he was not.

you are not teaching the converted ... he was a winner, that was never allowed to flourish, the taunts and the jibes must have had a knockback effect SHAME on those ignorant fans that booed or taunted, if it wasn't for your money I would say puddle off !

As a player, LJ was never Championship standard because not only was he the size of an average 16 year old, he lacked any bite or tenacity, and rarely imposed himself on the play.
As a manager he is a direct result of the player that he never became, because he imposes himself like he is trying to compensate for the City career he never had.

LJ's mind was always his biggest asset and now it is being used in the right manner. The guy is sharp as a button.
He could well develop into something special as a manager, and I think we are extremely fortunate that he is nuts about Bristol City. But then most clubs have a special one at some time or other - someone who is a fan of the club who raises their game in that club's interest.

Bad news RP - ours is Lee Johnson

I don't think he was as bad a player as many make out......size is not always an issue, i.e Messi, Zola just to mention two greats, Not sure Maradona was massive either!
Just about championship standard I thought..Had great vision and looked to play decent balls, although I felt more often than not, some of our players back in the day wasn't quite on the same wavelength..And as said before, always felt he put in 100% effort..

His vision, I believe is making him a decent manager, how far he can go and how good will he be who knows.....but in my opinion..so far so good, I have nothing as yet, to criticise him for..

'LJ was a good player' -
Must be true, RR's said it.

'Naaah - we got all the way to the playoff final with 10 men - we carried him all through that season' -
As seen from a Swindon bedroom window.

'LJ was never Championship standard because not only was he the size of an average 16 year old'
When pictured with our 14's touring side he stood on tip toes and was still the smallest.

'size is not always an issue, i.e Messi, Zola just to mention two greats' -
Of course it's not, it's a myriad of things.
Junior had 2 - his mind, his Dad picking the team and F A else.
Messi, Zola, Maradonna and Junior in the same breath - priceless.

'Guardiolas stock as a player has gone up in line with his success as a manager??'
Seems like Junior's has as well.

Really? So we didn't get to the playoff final then? Or perhaps we did it without LJ?
Perhaps living in Swindon affords me some sort of 'alternative reality' on football?

Of course, maybe where I live makes no difference to what happened whatsoever and perhaps you and I simply have opposing personal views on LJ as a player?

wouldn't believe anything from any of them ..all said to sell .. if they get "fined" it is tax deductible and usually less than the profit it generated

It's funny how folk have turned on Junior.

Not me, I knew all all along he was a useless inept tw*t.

Any of you lovers want to comment.
