This really could be the match that kickstarts Sturridge to form. If Kloppy gives him a start he could get his reward against a team low on morale.

    KLOPP ON TITLE RACE
Liverpool are currently sat in third position in the league, level on points with Tottenham and seven points behind league leaders Chelsea. Here's Klopp's take on the title race:
"It’s not about the time or day we play. It’s a home game.
"The interesting thing about the Premier League is that [the games are] only finals. Swansea are already playing to stay in the league.
"We are really looking forward to this opportunity. We will see when the finish starts, but we are still in the race.
“We had in the last five weeks the top teams in the league and I think we coped pretty well. I like how my team takes all these challenges.”

    KLOPP ON AFCON
"We knew about the AFCON before - it is the same for all teams.
"We have a lot of respect for what they are doing there. It is not too cool being in the middle of our season.
"The Matip case is special and we do not feel that it is fair.
"We do what we can - we cannot change it or turn it in our direction. It is another experience."

KLOPP ON VAN BASTEN OFFSIDE PROPOSAL
Hot in football at the moment are the proposals for debate put forward by FIFA's technical director Marco van Basten. Here's Klopp on the suggestion that the offside law could be scrapped...
"My opinion is.. this wonderful game that we all love doesn’t need rule changes.
"What we are doing, with the World Cup changes, puts the game in danger. They try to squeeze everything out of it but I don’t think they care about the future of football.
"Was it a real idea? He [van Basten] can create another game. There is enough pitches around the world."

    NO MATIP UPDATE
Jurgen Klopp has arrived and the first thing the Liverpool boss has confirmed is that there is no news concerning an update on centre-back Joel Matip...
"No, we don't have an update. FIFA mentioned to us this would be kind of D-Day.
"It’s difficult in this position because there is not a lot of training time. But I had to put me out of this case because I have to be concentrated on other things.

"But I am informed and there is no news."
    CLYNE AND HENDERSON UPDATE
Liverpool face Swansea in the early game on Saturday, and ahead of the clash at Anfield Klopp has given the following squad update, mentioning Nathaniel Clyne and Jordan Henderson.
"Clyney and Hendo were not in team training until now.
"Clyne should be back today in full team training and he could make it. He’s had two running sessions to see if he could cope with the pain.
"Hendo should be okay too. He felt a muscle a little bit more than he used to. But it’s still the heel, still about the original injury. That’s more the problem still."

as i'm not allowed post the presser as it seems to irritate i thought.....

Klopp on potentially scrapping offside rule: "I thought most of teams we've played against this season haven't had the offside rule!" #lfc

people would at least like klopp's humour

they spent and entire week trying to convince us drawing to utd at old trafford was a terrible result... mancs are odd that way.

    the bitters are just bitter

the chavs are of course just bricking it.

Don't mind being the first fixture of the weekend. A win makes the rest of it enjoyable. If we don't get a win then it could be a **** weekend of football.

Bar Spurs v City our other top 6 rivals have some very easy games.

Arsenal v Burnley and Chelsea v Hull both games in London. Stoke v United, Stoke love to roll over for United. Can't see any points "dropped" for those teams.
