Match Day Thread Liverpool V Stoke - Premier league

Anyone else feel comfortable seeing the opposition having a go at us for the first 20 or 30 mins? We seem to do better going at it later on in games.

 

No one was comfortable I think, Stoke came to play us in our own game and silence the crowd.

 

That was a good save by that goalie you're so keen to castigate. Look, I'm not a big fan of Migs, but he's better than Karius (who isn't?), but only 20" of that goal was his fault. Clyne and Mane 25% each for woefully inept defending have a cross why don't you, it's not as if you have any big fellers in the box... oh, wait), and Lovren 30% for losing Walters. But it was a good header, all said and done.

 

Look, I don't want to dis a tired defence that was facing a fresh Studge, but they did let him get a shot on target (albeit a pea-roller), and a shot going towards the post IS dangerous for the very reason that you have no idea where it will rebound to. As Wales found out in the Euros, when Studge comes on as a sub he is dangerous right until the final whistle and it's lax to let him have a shot-to-nothing.

 

Well more comfortable than when teams have at go at us in the last 20 like Bmouth did.

 

If you could contol mistakes then they wouldn't happen?..your not in control of mistakes

 

It would be boring if dominated for ninety minutes every game

 

You can control them by either by playing at a higher level or bringing in better players.

 

Name me one player that's never made a mistake and I'll never take the piss out of you again!

 

I'm not sure if I ever said players aren't allowed to make mistakes? But surely you wants players who make minimal mistakes?

Unless you want players who make mistakes every game and could potentially cost us points?

I really don't understand why you like to brush over mistakes and think we should just accept them?

 

The point is more that its happening regularly with our defenders.

Its going to eventually cost us because we are not going to be able to score 3/4 every single game, we need more results and performances like the Everton game where we just become a solid unit and give the opposition no chances, we gave Stoke 2 very presentable chances yesterday, teams shouldn't be having those kinds of chances against us!

 

I accept then because players are human beings and humans make mistakes. Even the best players the world as ever seen made mistakes, something you clearly acknowledge consider your response

You do realise that only two sides have conceded significantly less goals than us right? And that we are the leagues top scorers too?

Some folk just can't be happy

Just to be clear, there were posts above saying how our players and the opposition make mistakes so we shouldn't micro analyse everything.

The point I make is that I focus on Liverpool and not the opposition and the mistakes that we make are under our control, whereas the opposition mistakes aren't.

 

We have the 8th best defence in the league!!!

Its not good enough for a side that hopes to challenge for the title. It must be improved on if we are to catch Chelsea, otherwise games like Bournemouth will keep coming back to haunt us.

 

Nah, players make mistakes. We just have to hope our attack score a lot of goals each game ...

This is typical modern day football; want everything yesterday. A little bit of success (if you can even call it that at this stage) and expectations go through the roof

It is what it is, just bloody enjoy it. It's better than what we've had for quite some years bar the Suarez season.

I don't see why you're getting so worked up when some fans actually want to analyse the match and look to see where we can improve on so we can dominate the league and Europe.
