I am trying to connect a wi fi enabled printer to a light stream box, my Sister has upgraded and has a new router. I can't find the WPS button. There is an opaque button on the light bar, and 5 lights are green, but the printer will not pick up the router.

    any ideas?

I can't remember all the details, but a friend recently changed their router, and couldn't get the wi fi printer to connect. There was no WPS button, and the changes had to be made in the settings by adding the ISP address in the printer box.

Sounds way to complicated to me.

Aye, on my friends printer, it just meant make sure it's set to receive wi fi. I think we then printed the settings, which gave us the ip address, even though it didn't look connected.

It sounds like your sisters is a different issue. I seem to think there was an option of connecting direct to the router, or going via the pc.

Sorry if I haven't helped much.

Normally you connect the printer manually to the router through the printer settings. WPS makes it easier I guess if the printer has it.

I'm pretty sure the standard routers as part of the Lightstream package are Zyxel which all recent ones have WPS. Check on the back next to the power on/off. This is the router, not the white Lightstream box.

Thanks, I gave up and left for home. A bit cruel, but the later I leave the longer the journey.

This kind of thing used to be my job, so I'd say I have a good understanding of it, but **** me, printers are a nightmare. They never seem to be consistent in how they connect to a wireless network, so any of the answers you've had above could be true depending on the printer.

This may seem daft, but I think it has connected to the WiFi box but is not connecting to the home network. The printer is displaying a code, bit there is nowhere to put it in.
