I have a friend who's a Lib Dem and who consequently drivels on about Brexit and Europe generally, but I hadn't realized that their constitution actually aims for a federal European superstate. It says, and I quote verbatim: "Within the European Community we affirm the values of federalism and integration and work for unity based on these principles." Whether you voted Remain or Leave, can anyone explain why these twats don't think they need to ask the people of Europe whether or not this is actually what they want?
I find them a bit like the Jehovah's Witnesses. They just get on most peoples tits. They bang on your door & you just tell them to **** off. Totally inconsequential to British politics now anyhow. A busted flush with no hope.
Lib Dems are a bit useless. I'll refrain from stating my political ties however the day I vote for the Lib Dems, there will be a Tyne Weae Derby in the Champions League final!
I invited them in they sat in silence for 10 mins saying nothing ,i said now what the leader said he didnt know he had never got this far before
To be honest, I ****ing hate the Lib Dems. They are the party that wants everything to be "nice". No grounding in reality at all. The people are perfectly OK individually, but get them onto politics and I start reaching for my knuckledusters...
Any one to do with government Or infact politics Are only in it for them selves They couldn't give a jot about the public
I think the Lib-Dems try to be trendy and cool but have a bunch of stiffs pulling the strings, wimpy people that would probably thrust a crucifix into the Russian invaders face if that were to happen. A party of privileged, University drop-outs with to much time on their hands, never done a proper days work and all hopefully die at 60 through malnutrition.. I see them as a bunch of Mary Hopkin fans trying to singalong to a Johnny Winter track.. Lips move, but well out of sync with anything..
Voting Lib Dems against the Tories and Labour isn't a negative vote. It's giving the Lib Dems a positive vote they don't warrant and skews the rebel vote. I don't get how people don't see that. If you want to express your disapproval against the 2 main parties, don't vote at all. Abstain in the voting booth. In which case the Lib Dems don't get an inflated sense of their own popularity, and the 2 main parties realise the vote they're left with isn't a mandate to walk over the opposition on parliament!
Steady Tiger, not political one way or another, but the coalition with Tories some years ago didn't do a bad job.
Wasn't having a go Nostalgic. But the only reason the coalition didn't do a bad job from the Liberals perspective is because they sold their soul to the devil and abandoned their principles. Gladstone must have been spinning in his grave during the coalition!
You mean before the last election? The Lib and Tory government? Well it depends on what you call a bad job? Clegg got his fame, Cameron looked good because of Clegg, everything else was made up as you go and just plastic bullshit. Cameron firmed his gob when talking about Russia (Putin would snap him in half), Clegg did the clothes peg but people swallowed it. ATM Labour are unelectable and the Conservative party are an embarrassment when it comes to oversea issues. Something big will kick off soon, Syria is vulnerable, the South China sea looks likely but Korea is my bet this weekend..
You are ****ing joking right? It was an utter failure. Clegg & his ****house party u-turned on almost every pledge they made in their manifesto. All he was anyway was Cameron's puppet. " Come on you ****. Dace while I pull your strings." They are in the abyss now where they belong. Makes no difference who I vote for anyhow. My constituency is Durham North & Labour always piss it.
Looking at the political world from this distance I am happy to be here when I think just what could happen under the current leader of the free world.
