I If this is true & our manager prefers Cottrill to Pilkington then that is troubling. Cottrill is ok but that's about it. Pilkington is one of our few genuine top class players, notwithstanding he is injury prone so I hope he stays and signs a contract extension.
Agree about the comparison between Pilks and Cotts - no way would Cotts be the better option. I must say I'm a bit concerned that Trollope has spent the last 3 weeks in France with the likes of Cotterill, Robson-Kanu and Jonny Williams. All three are potential signings for us but I wouldn't want any of them. The only other Welsh hero within our budget would be Gunter who has been rumoured to be available for around the £1M mark - I'd certainly be pleased to take him back.
Gunter yes but isn't there a rumourmill linking him to Celtic? As for Trollop the real business starts as from now
Agree fully on your post Sparks. I've already expressed my views on Cotterell. To sum up, I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. Are the club looking at budget issues? Pilks is in the last year of 3 and probably well paid. He would go for free next year. We might get £500k for him now. Birmingham have been paying peanuts so got monkeys although their monkeys should have beaten our tortoises at the end of the season. Bottom line I don't want Cotterell mainly for the manner in which he has celebrated his sides scoring against his home town club. Total lack of respect from an Ely boy. How can we possibly accept him. And he's an ex- Jack!!!

Stick Fabio across at LB instead of him and go for GUNTER on the right - Tan said he wanted more Welsh players in the side so why not? It make take a few quid and a bit of persuasion, but I reckon he'd come home. Peltier would make a useful squad player as back up or off the bench.
I'd rather spend the money on a quality left back than Gunter, who will cost at least a million and would be a good signing (I will say), but Peltier bar the odd game was decent enough at this level and Fabio was erratic in defence and sometimes outstanding going forward. However, I struggle to remember the last time we had a quality LB (Taylor in my memory is the only decent recent one) and no body jumps out from the crowd... So we may as well spend the money on Chris!
As Tony's biggest fan, I'll happily admit that the only qualities he possessed was the ability to mark thin air and his basketball long throws... Defending, a quality crucial for defenders, was sadly not amongst them!
Don't forget the King of Spain. 2 appearances, 1 red card. Can't remember his name. Mark Kennedy wasn't bad. Just injury prone.
WoL mentions Jazz Richards as a make weight in the Malone deal. Has looked good when he gets a chance for Wales. While an ex-Jack I wouldn't have a problem with him. Trollope knows him well. Thoughts?
It sounds like an improvement pus cash to me. Just below that is this, you probably need to be sitting down for it though.......... " Federico Macheda next out? Plenty of you picking up on social media whispers that Macheda is on the verge of joining Pescara. Not heard anything at all on that, but we’ll see. Paul Trollope is clearly making his mark, however." Dry your eyes lads
