Right that's 4 points from an 'impossible' 3 games, so starting with Burnley in fortnight, we need 5 victories to have a realistic chance. Next 5 home games:- Burnley Swansea WHU Borer Watford That ought to do it, and still leaves SAFC as a back up.
Those 4 games were always going to be difficult, Chelsea away, Man-u away, Liverpool home & Arsenal away. We've done remarkably well to get 4 points from them. It's still too early to call if we'll stay up but if we can perform like we have been against similar opposition we should just scrape it.
The last 4 games we expected nowt. We got 4 points in total, as good as drawing them all. 5 more wins ...........piece of piss.
I think we were 4 points adrift before that run of games. I thought if we could keep it to that after those games, with our run in we have a cracking chance. RemarkabIy we've got it down to 2. Do hope our lack of centreback cover doesn't come back to haunt us. How many yellows are they on?
Why not go for 13 wins from 13 games? I'm sure Marco isn't saying we only need 5 wins. So why should we?
Hate to put a dampener on things but, We have just taken 4 points against 4 of the big boys but those teams attack and come at you so they give you space to exploit. The big test is going to be the next 3 where we potentially will come against stubborn defensive teams who will sit and invite us on. Now is where we will find out if we can stay up because the test is breaking those teams down! I honestly think we will beat these sides round us now but we are really going to need to see that creative spark from the likes of Evandro, Markovic and Grosiki to name a few
Next up Burnley who are **** away, but will think 'We can win this one' so may well come on the front foot. We took care of these easy last season at home, and they fluked it at theirs. We need to develop some set piece threat with Snodgrass gone, because we are still struggling in front of the onion bag, despite all the changes, just like we were before under Mike Phelan.
Psychologically, I feel we have to win the next two. I also have a hunch we'll beat Spurs on the final day.
I reckon 4 wins and draw or two might be enough. We need to win at least 1 Away to take the pressure off the home games.
It should be. I really felt that Silva would get more away, maybe he will still, but after recent results, it does look unlikely. Still, Marco S has my full support and if we do go down, I'd like to keep him on.
Who knows. I suppose a lot will depend on the mooted takeover or sufficient backing being given/promised for next season. I don't think he'll be offered a 'top job' anyway.
