Sunderland have rejected a bid from Besiktas to sign winger Jeremain Lens permanently. [@SkySports_Keith] -SR5Paul It was either a shyte offer or Grayson wants to keep him??
Probably both but my guess is that it didn't meet our valuation. I think pretty much everyone is for sale for the right price.
Doesn't seem to be interest in Kone so far, can't remember if anyone other than Everton tried to buy him last season but I think that ship has sailed now. Might end up being stuck with him for better or worse.
If we get promoted (not expected) then why would we sell him next season as he'd be an asset in the PL?
Because he'd recoup is value but he has no interest in staying with you long term. Also you have to keep him interested while in the Championship
he's a 15m-20m player on his day, given his attitude has prevented us from knowing how consistent he is I think 10-12m is a fair price.
But he'd be more valuable to us in the PL than if we sold him for the value we paid for him - most players don't have many long term plans at clubs like ours.
Sunderland have turned down a bid from Turkish club Besiktas for their Dutch winger Jeremain Lens, according to Sky sources. The 29-year-old joined the Black Cats from Dinamo Kiev, for £11m, in the summer of 2015. He made 23 appearances for Sunderland - in all competitions - during his first season on Wearside before spending most of 2016/17 on loan at Fenerbahce. Sky Sports News understand that Sunderland are willing to sell Lens, but the Besiktas bid fell short of their valuation.
I was under the impression we paid 8m and the rest were extras. Can't see him has triggering many clauses like.
