Match Day Thread Leicester Away - League cup

Not a great fixture for both us & Leicester. We play Goons away next and they place Manu away this coming Saturday. I would think, eyes firmly fixed on the League than League cup.

Won't be surprised if both teams went with 2nd string eleven especially Leicester with their Midweek CL fixtures as well. I would be glad if Michy, RLC & Chalobah get a proper run from the start.

Can write off League cup today. Conte needs to fix the Defense big time.

For me next 4 League games (Goons, Hull both away & Leicester, Manu at home) are very crucial.
need atleast 8 pts from the next 4 games to consider ourselves Top 4 ready.

 

I kinda wonder how N'golo Kante will perform in their knowing his new team will battle on his former team.

 

I hope and trust he'll get a very warm welcome back prior to kickoff.
Not too fussed about losing this one for obvious reasons....and I never thought I d be saying that two seasons ago !

 

Claudio Ranieri is wishing the same thing too, but afterwards he'll be an enemy he said.

 

I concur, though I do think he should have stayed with us one more season as he'd have been playing CL football a year earlier with us this season than you next ?

Yes.... just listened to excerpts from his pc and it sounded like that was his thinking but who knows ?
It's a bit of a conundrum for us really because we ain't gonna repeat last years success in either the league or CL so if we want to play in Europe next season, winning a domestic cup competition is realistically our only route but if we stay in this competition it would IMO be detrimental to progress in the big two !
We're damned if we do and we're damned if we don't, so to speak.... If that makes sense ?
Only my opinion though, can't speak for fellow foxes as I live in Dunstable !

 

Having said all of that, there is of course Italian rivalry at stake and their press/media will be all over this match !

 

glad we had this game as soon as possible to right the many wrongs of friday night.

its a shame we are playing leicester though, they seem to be the kind of team we just cant deal with, and i dont expect a resounding result tonight. Oh well, we'll see what happens.

above all, i want RLC, and batshuayhi to get a start with chalobah coming on. We need to at least see what those guys are about.

Our poor defense will not have any answer to Ah Musa also. He is fast.

 

I'm not going to start having a meltdown and panicking over one loss like a certain poster

But...we spent well over 100 million in the summer and basically playing the same team and the same way as last year (save for Kante and an injury forced Luiz in for Terry).

Once again we've spent a small fortune on a left back to keep Dave out there and Ivan right back!

Also read an interesting article this morning about how Kante is told to stay centrally rather than chase the ball like he did at Leicester meaning his tackling and sprint stats are well down.

 

Why would I panic?? I am very calm and just stated the obvious.

For the ****ING record - I will repeat myself from the beginning of the season.
I am ok with Conte, if he gets TOP 6 with the RIGHT mix of team with youngsters like- RLC, Michy, Aina & already loaned out Bertrand, Kenedy, Ake et al.


Conte was VERY poor in the last 2 games - with poor / late subs let alone the team selection.
he has not fixed the Defensive situation yet. Our Defense is worse than Liverpool's who have Milner for LB.

No wonder pressure is already mounting on Conte. Margins are very fine in this league.
Just remember - AvB had better start than Conte. RDM had same start as Conte in the first 5 matches.

Conte needs to show that he is a hardman and make tough decisions to fix our Back 4. Or else this back 4 will have another manager to their hit list
