It doesn't hurt. The reason for those articles was the irritating way Leeds bring it up all the time and big it up as something important.

Dont know how old you are lad but "any" club that took a mob/firm to Leeds got the same reception as man utd got back in the day.

Did they throw bricks at the Man Utd support as it was escorted from Elland Road?

completely agree, being 3-0 down and still singing that well was awesome. Its just so frustrating the players couldnt replicate the fans performance

I was waiting at the bottom of Elland Road to see if McDonalds was open and the pigs charged all the Leeds fans down the road and it appeared they escorted the scum coaches in the other direction. So in short: no.

The walk back to the train station from Elland Rd is entertaining to say the least.

You were awful you should have beaten Man utd's 4th team.
We would have beaten them, when we played them in the FA Cup last year we only lost 2-1 after dominating 70mins of the game it was only when Nani and Giggs came on did they win.I was expecting more from Leeds tonight oh well best of luck for this season.

For the record I don't hate any other team, I dislike certain players and managers but whoever Leeds play I want them to win. I try not to bother with pre match threads, they always turn into pissing matches and after the match it is always going to hurt one set of fans and bite someone in the ass.

Well we can't all get Swindon and Preston  Anyway hardly 4th team, Owen, Berbatov, Park, Carrick, Valencia, Giggs, Fabio and eventually Welbeck came on! That's more their 1st team bench and 1 or 2 starters and 2 or 3 youngsters. I was expecting more as well but atleast our fans were top class, man u away fans only chanted when they scored or when provocation by us insulting their support, it was a joke compared to Leeds. All manc glory supporters saying they were empty seats when they didn't even go to the match

That is ridiculous comment. No-one gave a **** about your game, except your fans, hardly anyone even probably watched it.

Comparing that to a CL final is pathetic <laugh>

Firstly, well done to Manure I have to admit they are playing as well as any club (ex Barca of course).

Secondly, congratulations to all the glory supporters, you picked a good team to follow from your armchairs down the M6.

Third and finally, well done to all the Leeds fans posting on here and reminding them over the hill that we are still here, loud and proud of who we are.

Even though our club has taken so many kicking’s over the years; we were robbed of the European cup in Paris by officials who were later proven to be corrupt. We have had to watch successive chairman sell players cheaply only to see them make the difference elsewhere (Cantona, Batty etc.).

Recently football has stood by and watched us collapse and be picked over by the vultures without stepping in to do the right thing. We have watched the FA stand by whilst the Football League kicked us the fans with a painful point deduction, aimed to keep us down in the 3rd tier.

But...

We never gave up, we never stopped following the team or supporting the players, regardless of who turned out in the famous white shirt on a Saturday (and there have been a few).

And…

We know no investigation of Bates will occur, as the FA will sweep the requests of a Parliamentary committee under the carpet... All because some time ago those in power decided that we are not worth it, that we in some way deserve to be treated so badly, they call us "DIRTY LEEDS" because it helps them justify standing by, allowing the abuse to continue, whilst they turn a blind eye to those who wrong us.

However…

Given all this, we the fans of Leeds United, still just keep following the beautiful game, even though it continues to treat us the grass roots fans so badly. Because we love football, were loyal to our team and our colours.

We are not a brand or an easy choice, we are Leeds…

Tonight, when Michael carrick and Dimitar Berbatov played as centre backs and 3 youth team players featured and 2 players widely regarded by Leeds fans as past it got the goals has certainly helped us with this pain.

How the **** do you surmise we were quiet at 3-0 down? Go to the stadium rather than sit on your sofa if you're going to make comments like that. As it is, you're embarrassingly, utterly wrong and it makes you look like a bit of a silly ****er. <ok>

We filled it for Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool you cock, we obviously have the fans. But many are boyotting Ken Bates' ownership. Does this really need explaining or are you being wilfully obtuse?

Leeds-Manchester rivalry.
Yorkshire-Lancashire rivalry.
Revie-Busby rivalry.
Hooligan rivalry.
Vicious matches in 60s and 70s.
Player transfers.
Death goading from both sets of fans.

By the way, most of the time we have no need to explain that; it's the real Man U fans who usually end up having to explain it to their ignoramus JCL fans who think Chelsea are their biggest grudge team.

"The only black spot of the night from Man Utd, in fact, was the chanting by their supporters of songs referencing the night in Istanbul when two Leeds fans were killed in violent scenes - chants that did neither themselves nor their club any credit whatsoever."

Not my words, but those of the BBC
