    Fair enough I suppose. Fans are bound to be at their most optimistic on the very eve of the beginning of a new season.
    Must admit I'm looking forward to it myself - though remaining well prepared to be let down again.

    First results shouldn't have too much read into them, but for me a win tomorrow at the Valley will extend that all-too-brief sparkle of first-fixture magic for the rest of this weekend.

    We're a fan base where if we win today then we will get carried away and talk of storming the league. If we lost then nothing has changed and we will be calling for protests.

    It should be boring supporting a family club like charlton, but it isn't :)
