Fair enough I suppose. Fans are bound to be at their most optimistic on the very eve of the beginning of a new season. Must admit I'm looking forward to it myself - though remaining well prepared to be let down again. First results shouldn't have too much read into them, but for me a win tomorrow at the Valley will extend that all-too-brief sparkle of first-fixture magic for the rest of this weekend.
