He's dog **** mate, he's always gonna be tidy enough as he keeps it simple, too simple to have any influence.

We don't need any more water carriers.

Simon Davies all over again for me.

Edit: Talking about Colback, not sure why his thread got merged into the Leadbitter thread. Am I rat arsed or has someone been gung ho on the old merge button?

I still maintain we should merge all the threads into one megathread, forever. The confusion would be real.

    My fault.
I wondered who might be best for us, Grant or Jack.
This has muddied the waters a bit.
But you might also be rat arsed!!!

Head says yes to both, heart says yes to Grant, head says no to Jacky C, he's cost the club enough already.

I'd tell Colback we're interested, make out we'd pay his over inflated wage, hopefully get him to turn down other offers, then tell him at the last minute to **** right off.

But if we could get him at a decent price his emotional attachment to Sunderland may be enough to improve his level of play for us in the championship. A renewed motivation to end his career on a high note at his boyhood team.

Good point, he is one of ours no doubt, and I would not be surprised if it turns out that way, swap him for Rodwell. <laugh>

Or maybes it wont because physically he may be past the point of no return.
I just dont see the point in paying another player at least 10k a week in a position that we dont need covering.
Id rather save the wages for an area we do need ie defence or attack.

That's a strong possibility we just need to wait and see and trust SG and MB.

It would be a nice touch bringing an ex home grown player back but it reminds me abit of Downings final swansong at Boro. He was a shadow of the player he once was and he ended up being an expensive flop. Weve had more than enough of them over the years.
Besides I thought Grant said he could never play for us again after his dad died because his ashes had been spread on our pitch or something?

Hi ashes were spread near the dugouts and he celebrated a goal against Arsenal over there so he played after his dad died but not sure about after that season. He's one player I think will always give 100% for us - but he's also the position (as has been said) we're probably strongest in.

Cattermole, N'Dong, Rodwell, Gibson along with Honeyman and Gooch who can also play in central positions
