Today Froome wins The Tour De France again. It seems like the media have it in for him and the British seem nonplussed about his achievement.
Granted he isn't rock and roll like Wiggo was but why are his achievements so overlooked?

Because Froome does not put himself in the public eye that Wiggins does.

And the booing in the velodrome yesterday was utterly disgusting.
Not Froomes' fault that Bardet was so poor in the TT that he almost
got caught on the line for 2 mins. If I was Froome, I would be setting
up an ambush today to get Landa on the podium.

because this country loves a 'knobhead, loudmouth, geeza, aye up lad...would love a fookin pint with you, especially with my spazzy side burns that make me look like a dick, but a great sense of humour nevertheless'

Ronaldo and Messi would never have made it if they were English.

Makes me laugh that some people fawn all over Konta , been here after changing From Autralia to us , yet Froome , who has had a British passort from Birth gets stick .

The drug cloud that hangs over Team Sky and the sport in general makes people shrug.

This is a key point. Same with Sir Mo Farah.
I think Cycling has a big stigma attached to it.

The TUE thing is hurting the PR of Team Sky.

And the substance usage thing may never leave the sport
(in which case you assume they are all doing the same thing -
and the ones who are more committed in training, more
skilled or tactically-aware who prevail just as they will without
    doping) .

Doping will always be an issue.
I loved watching Armstrong win seven Tours. It's such a disappointment to know he was a cheat - and to know that others who might have written a page in Tour history were denied their chance as a result.
I've loved watching Froome win four. I'm praying that he isn't a cheat - or even a slight bender of the rules. Cycling does like to bend the rules in the pursuit of some marginal gains. Blood doping was a crass breach of the rules, but there are many other less blatant infringements which might be exposed as cheating at some point. For the credibility of the sport, the best can't be involved at any level.

I think Sir Mo is a legend.

Massive respect for what he's achieved, especially as he had a tough childhood.

Hope he smashes it again at the Worlds in a few days time.
