Cardiff City flew up to Preston on DT's private jet. more than cutting the journey time in half, DJ has said that it enabled the players to arrive far more relaxed and rested than they would have been. A cost analysis has been commissioned by the club, Is it worth the club (or DT) buying their own jet? It sounds ridiculous, but the money saved on hotel bills on long trips, the money "saved" on travel costs, would not be small potatos, and the plane would be available for hire for over 50% of the year, and when you consider the tax write off implications for the Chan organisation, well it starts to make a funny kind of sense, no one is suggesting that the club would make a profit, but the benefits to the team and the players, could be immense for a relatively small increase in outlay, it would also raise the profile of the club hugely, and it also cuts down the costs of playing any European friendlies that may be on offer, plus pre season tours can become more ambitious and cheaper to run, the higher profile this could give the club, may well attract better players, and sponsors would love to have the chance to fly to away games with the team. Might never happen, but these guys didn't get to be rich by being stupid......................nice to see these guys are thinking.
