Everton have put a £17 million bid in by many accounts. We will soon find out if his comments regarding loving our club are genuine..I'm sure that Everton can out do us regarding wages, so the next few days should be interesting..If he does want to leave there is little we can do about it although I hope the club hang out for a lot more than the offer.
Moyes will want a replacement in first, I think. If he can manage to do that, then a 20m offer and it would be nice knowing you, Lamine
I'm dead against this possible deal. We have a fantastic partnership with him and Kaboul. Anything else would be a step backwards. We have a threadbare squad and our CB's would then be JOS and Kaboul with very little cover. The new lad is an unknown quantity at the moment. When we sold Henderson and Bent, was the reported £40 million spent on new players? I don't think so. I think £18 million coming in would mean perhaps a £5 million replacement bought and the rest of the money would disappear into our accounting system. Sell Kone and we are much weaker. We must keep him and add quality not sell our best players. Who's next? Khazri? Kirchhoff? We all know how small our squad is and any replacement of our top players will surely be with inferior ones. We must not sell him.
Is that not what Papy is though? He's a centre half who is capable in centre mid. We may only need cover? (I truly don;t know by the way as I've never seen Djilobodji play - does that sound like a euphemism)!!
Googled Kone leaving Sunderland, and this just came up.. On http://SAFC.com the club have moved quickly to deny the reports about Lamine Kone.
But he didn't we let them come and take him We can't go and get a player if there won't let him go we should tel them were to go and he is staying with us It's not as if Everton were a big top team is it.
"Sky sources understand Sunderland defender Lamine Kone is this morning on Merseyside as negotiations continue over a potential move to Everton. One source has told us Everton placed the bid of £18m more than a week ago – however our sources at Sunderland have denied any bid has been received. We can trace the issues back to the departure of Sam Allardyce, who it is suggested had agreed to improve the central defender’s contract if Sunderland survived relegation. However the arrival of David Moyes has meant priorities have shifted and a new offer has not been forthcoming." Having said that "sky sources" can mean a kid playing on twitter!
Danny Gabbidon says there's movement in the Ashley Williams to Everton deal so it could all be simple bullshit
