There's no threat to his job at present. We give our managers time, always have done. We leave the kneejerking to the kopites. Match going Blues will give Koeman another year plus to make the team his own. p.s. We're 9th not 19th.
. I find it semi fascinating. He left here and then said something about ambition, so yes I care. We find ourselves out of europe, will you be showing an interest in the draw later, I'm intrigued to see who will come out of the hat. The what might have beens.......hopefully HBS get the worst draw possible......just so I can console myself.
Everton, West Ham and Spurs are the three clubs I hate and would love to see relegated. Well, 2 out of 3 could happen.
I think their window was piss poor and he was probably disappointed in that after thd new owners promises of funds etc. Have to remember he was very streaky here too. Wouldn't suprised to see them go on a run at some point. Once he builds his own team they'll be challenging the top 6 easily I reckon. Be interesting to see what business they do in January. The squad needs a lot of work.
They spent a bit to be fair. Although most was Stones money. They need an overhaul of the squad, 4/5 starting eleven need to be improved on/replaced in the summer then they will be top 8 at least. They didn't sign Sissoko for £30m so it's not all bad for them!
Yeah but bar Gueye (who was a fantastic signing at that price) and Williams (solid) the business was pretty poor. Sakho on loan Also they must have one of the oldest defences in the league. And yeah they dodget a bullet in Sissoko for sure. I said that when everyone on here was laughing cos they didn't get him!!
We only made 4 signings - Stek, Williams, Gueye and Bolasie - with Valencia on loan. All 4 permanent signings were upgrades on what we had in those positions. The window still failed to deliver what was expected though, as the Stones cash meant we spent virtually nothing.
Lol. posting a form table that has us in 8th doesn't give it much credibility. results business I know but Everton are actually playing better than we are, just getting worse results at the moment.
Sorry meant Valencia not Sakho Yeah Stek may be better than Howard but no where near good enough to be 1st choice for where you're aiming for. Decent back up though and expect you to bring a gk in. Similar Bolasie, I've never rated him as highly as a lot seem to and espescially at the price you paid think you could have got a lot better. Gueye & Williams were great signings as I've said. Particuarly Gueye who was a ****ing steal. Still think your defensive side is ageing fast with Jagielka, Barry & Baines. Fixed
I like Bolasie but he was massively over priced and now out for a year Jags is finished and has been dropped by Koeman. Baines is now 32 and starting to fade, especially defensively. Barry is still a great pro at 35, but this is his last season at Goodison I don't think Stek was ever intended to be first choice, but we failed to land a No.1.
How much do you think the club need to spend minimum in January, Tobes?...and will Evertonians be disappointed if that amount isn't invested in the squad?
The Jan window is always difficult, both in terms of prising away good players and then fees being inflated. So I'm not expecting 5 or 6 through the door. The amount spent isn't that important to me, it's dick waving tbh. We paid £7m for Gueye and he's a gem, so if Walsh can provide more like that I'll be happy. I think most Blues want to see a signing that'll excite and make a statement though. We expected it in the summer, and it failed to materialise.
You're right in that Everton have not historically been one of the 'panic' puppies in the PL regarding managers. But, as many blues supporters were only too keen to point out to us naive Saints back in the summer, times have changed. There is a toxic combination forming. Consisting of over-hyped invisible war chest, Koeman's less than engaging manner, a christmas tree, some very used golf clubs and one win in the last ten games. To be fair if the leaks about his pay and contract terms are true that may save him even if the next two home games are lost. Too expensive to sack. Give him the season and you'll remain top 10 at the very least with a shout for 6/7th maybe, he's still a decent manager.
