Saw my old man off in '78. Nunhead Cemetary. Was a long journey back, I can tell you. He was the last of the old family to go. Leaves me as the "old man" now.
My old man is 84, thankfully fit as a fiddle and still gives me a dig out when needed.Lives in house at front of business so we spend hours together every day. Cant replace the dads thats for sure
I'm going to my da's 90th on Thursday............... When he see's the bar tab afterwards, he mighten reach 91
My dad was 87 and in reasonably good health considering but it was the circumstances of his death surrounding that did the damage, which I won't go into on a live forum which I'm sure you'll respect and appreciate Eire.
Seriously though Steve, my condolences mate It would have been my old mans 81st Birthday today, ****ing NHS let him down, the bastards just left him there to die
Cheers geet and spooky as it was but my mother in law died on my dad's birthday in 2013, so every year since has been a happy/sad occasion but this year onwards now will be a double sad occasion, I'll be glad to be working on my birthday this year in May as I won't be celebrating being the first one without dad.
