Liverpool players have been asked not to sign autographs or pose for pictures as they enter and leave the Reds’ Melwood training ground.

It has been a long tradition for fans to gather outside the West Derby training facility in the hope of an autograph - or in recent years - a selfie with one of their heroes as they arrive or depart from training.

for health and safety around the gate...... like... ffs

 

You sure it's health and safety and not "we can sell these autographs through the club" so Bollocks to the poor fans trying to get them.

Help pay for some of the silly wages players are on now days

 

The official line on the echo is all I know.

Someone worried about the little dears running over a kid and hurting themselves I expect.

 

They won't let me do that at my office anymore either. :-(

I've had to put restrictions on people gathering waiting for me to come out so they can take a selfie with me outside of my flat as well

 

Probably because most of the kids are put there by parents who then sell the autographs on Ebay. Lots of players have stopped signing autographs unless it is for a recognised charity to auction off.

I don't sign my autograph anymore as I use a debit card instead of cheques

 

Has a special kid squishing section.
