This story has reared its head again. Hull are stepping up bid to sign long term injury absentee Michael Kightly I wouldn't mind Kightly coming in aslong as it doesn't limit Belaid's involvement. I think Belaid has the potential to be a great player for us, just needs game time. Thoughts?
Well we have in the team currently, Mannone/Guzan, Hobbs, Evans and Gerrard in the team so far, so there is only room for one more in the match squad and i would much rather that go to someone like Greening when we have Belaid/Stewart/Devitt/Koren who can all play wide.
We were once after him a while ago. But I think he was injured He is a proper player and one who I would have loved to see in a Blue Shirt but we have Andy King playing full time in the team who is a better version of him now.
I'm not sure there's anything in this, it's only in the Mirror and despite him a good player he's barely played in eighteen months and I can't see us risking a loan place on him.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but to my knowledge Andy King is a younger 'Frank Lampard' type center mid, and Kightly is a more 'Aaron Lennon' kind of pacey winger. So I fail to see where ones a better version of the other when they're entirely different players.
As I suspect it's Dazzar's contact who wrote the Mirror article, I doubt it would get us much further.
That would surely make him the man to ask how much there is in this. I imagine Kightly may be one of dozens of players we have enquired about. Hell, some guy at West Brom says they made 29 offers for strikers in January! Either no-one wants to play for us or we aren't offering 4 and half year deals at 45k pw
