<peacedove> It has been a nightmare signing a defender, Southampton have now promised their new manager
that they are not going to sell Virgil van Dijk.
Getting a quality defender with premiership experience is going to cost over £30 million GBP.

We have Mamadau Sakho, why can't we keep him and forget about the past.
I believe he has learnt some lesson.

Voted Sell since its going to happen. Every Source saying he's a gonner. Be some turn around in relationship for him to stay.

Hopefully we have an option b to dick van dyke and unlike with him we've learned our lesson and keeping stum for once....

We're going to sell, but I wish it hadn't come to that. He's a good defender.

Still our second best CB. I'm surprised we haven't actually signed John Terry, as we'll never get VVD this century.

Mamadau Sakho is a prodigal son, has he repented? We only knew a little of his sins.

So what, he celebrated a Crystal Palace goal when he was being paid by them to play for them to ensure their survival in the PL. Players rarely have loyalty to clubs, they follow the money and who their current team is.

I still believe he's capable of being a top defender if he plays alongside a calmer presence who can organise - like Matip. VVD for £70million or keep Sakho? Keep Sakho and buy an outstanding midfielder all day long.

He wore a palace tracksuit to a game he could not play in, sat on bench he had no place on and celebrated.

For me I'd rather keep Lovren and suffer through than keep that Dick.

Pretty sure it'll be policy that players representing the club at that current time/match have to wear club branded sportswear. He was a Palace player at the time being paid by Palace. He'd just been shipped out on loan after being sidelined and got caught up the survival interests of a club who probably have some decent lads socially. What do you expect?

People are viewing the Palace game far to critically.

No... not when they cannot play, he should have been in stand wearing a blazer.... at best.

He should have stayed home in actual fact.

**** that **** sorry. He was poking the bear.

I'm with MITO on this one. He didn't have to be there and certainly didn't have to be pitchside.

From an anti liverpool point of view, i would think it is far better than you waste your money sacking him off and buying someone potentially more sub standard/wasting your money.

Really, if he wasn't a "dick" and we don't even know what that means or what he has done (is he REALLY that disruptive?) that has meant potentially one of your better CBs is not playing and you'd rather have Lovren and Lucas playing. Deffo cutting of your nose to spite your face going on here.

He's athletic, he's strong, he's focussed, he talks to team mates and he's a great passer. The only thing you can really criticise him for is his decision making and positioning when he's not concentrating. He's normally bailed out though because he's athletic enough and determined enough (also would help to play alongside an intelligent CB who will cover for him).

He's a good defender but we need better so will buy someone better than Lovren, Lucas and Sakho. Sorted.

Someone better than Lovern, Lucas and Sakho are not coming cheap.£60M or more for VVD is not my cup of tea. Everyone deserves a second chance, perhaps Sakho too.

Bobby say i dunno.. lampard had been on loan to city from you not accidentally bought by ny city and sent there and you as a chelsea fan had to watch the guy who could then not play for city sit on bench then celebrate a city goal at the bridge... you would take a very dim view.

Your fans were upset enough he turned up in city colours at all as i recall.

I'm shocked top 8 PL clubs haven't looked at Terry, unless he doesn't want to be playing against Chelsea?
