Dele Ali's agent Rob Segal is being sued by tax authorities for unpaid debts, and has put his company into liquidation. The Company, Impact Sports Management, lists Ali's ex manager Karl Robinson as a shareholder. ISM would stand to make a big profit if Ali ever got a big money transfer from Spurs. Karl Robinson, now manager of Charlton, is one of ISM's top clients and Robinson is credited with helping to develop Ali. It is unclear how Ali came to be represented by ISM. SOURCE - DAILY MAIL. I often wondered why Robinson "bigged up" young players and seemingly put undue pressure on them. Aribo "the new Patrick Viera" being the latest example. Apart from anything else, surely there is a conflict of interest here?
this could end up with us appointing manager 9 in 3.1 years if he's found to have done something wrong. at least it would keep roland consistent.
Robinson is a shareholder and a major client? There can't be any problem with him being a client, but as a shareholder he would presumably have to have declared an interest. If he did there should not be a problem. If not it should be investigated.
Not surprised. The Alladyce fiasco was just the tip of the iceberg, I suspect. Money has ruined football. Everybody apart from the fans have benefitted from it.
Robinson being a shareholder of a football agency - even if declared - will just increase suspicions when he talks up a young player. Did Charlton know about this link when they hired him, and was he allowed to sign Charlton players up to the agency before it was put into administration ? The Mail says that Robinson declined to comment. Unusual for him
Keith Hill has a deal at Rochdale where he collects money from player sales of yoof. Apparently making a very pretty penny from Hogan. Odd that the club allow him to do that, rather than re-investing in the team. More odd that he doesn't share it with his staff who put the time in to getting them ready for first team football.
