He was then asked if it is sad that the midfielder will be lining up against Barnsley next season in the Championship. "It is [sad]. But Josh signed his contract and saw it through to the end and that's great and that's what you want from your players," said Heckingbottom. Meanwhile, the Barnsley head coach also confirmed interest in his central defender Marc Roberts but that there were no current bids in for the player. http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/josh-scowen-set-join-another-129162
Lurking on Barnsley forums, it seems as though they'll miss him. The most 'negative' comments were 'good, but not irreplaceable', all the way up to 'one of the best at the club'. He's also been linked with a lot of other Championship clubs, including Villa, Fulham, Wolves, Forest etc...
Hang on - whatever you think of LJ he has pulled off some magic in the past, with Tammy and Tomlin for example. Let's hold the mud slinging until the window shuts on us.
Arguably, the judgement should only come a good number of games into the season. As has been well recollected, LJ said he needed/wanted 3 transfer windows to build a side he wanted, so I think it's reasonable for us to expect a good level of performance from now on. I don't think that necessarily means a playoff challenge, but certainly a strong, mid-table finish, well away from the relegation zone should be 'par'. If we're in the bottom 3 after 10 games then I think it'd be pretty conclusive that he'd failed.
Hallelujah, a man talking sense, if he ahieves the bottom 3 after 10 with us I'd sack him and pay for his taxi out. I also agree with the fist part of this post.
Lazy journalism, we were linked with loads of Barnsley players last summer, and in January.. Lee Johnson told us yesterday that most of these rumours aren't true. Stop being so sly with your little digs. You just can't wait for him to fail...
Bit dramatic, most of us have given Jnr a 10 game opportunity and the 3 month pre season to come up with the goods, I think thats fair.
