All this talk about new players seems eerily similar to last year and the year before that, somewhat like a national team I know who seem to constantly base their tomorrows on smoke and mirrors. Let's not fool ourselves here because the plain and simple truth is that we are not able to compete on so many levels in the Championship and the lack of interest by players in coming to Ashton Gate is clearly obvious to me by our inability to attract the kind of players needed to break this interminable cycle of underachievement. At least down where we ply our business we are less likely to have to endure the snotty nosed greedy national players who just don't get it when it comes to the pride of wearing the shirt - or do we? Keep on talking and speculating guys and you never know what might drop down your way and if tomorrow is deemed to be our day in the market for signing new players then so be it, but frankly I won't hold my breath because I've heard all this promise before.
Summer 2016 is beginning to resemble Summer 2015, is it not? We do not have a squad sufficient in numbers or experience of this league and unless that is rectified very soon, we all know what will follow
I think LJ at least has a lot of integrity from what I've seen of him. He knows full well that we cannot compete at any level with a lot of teams in our league in terms of our pulling power or financial recompense in terms of wages, or our likely finishing position in the league. Those are all massive factors that will influence who wants to come to us. It's also silly season with agents probably offering lots of red herrings, and a lot of players/agents may also be on holiday at this time. So we just have to be patient and hope, for once, that the club are moving heaven and earth to get the right players in.
You're wasting your time mate, it falls on deaf ears. Don't you know June/ July season is begging SL to spend his own money, then it's back to oh we've not signed we are going down season. It seems no one understands it's his money not the clubs.
