Middlesbrough assistant and former Bristol City boss Joe Jordan praises Steve Lansdown, the city and Ashton Gate

The twice-manager of City has been talking to the Bristol Post
Middlesbrough assistant coach Joe Jordan is a fan of the work being done by supremo Steve Lansdown.
Jordan, who still lives in Bristol following his retirement while at the club in 1989, likes what the majority share holder is doing at the Robins and has been particularly impressed by the redevelopment of Ashton Gate Stadium.

The two-times manager of City is now helping out Steve Agnew at the Riverside but spoke to the Post about the city Jordan still lives in and is very fond of.
"I've never left [Bristol] and I've kept my house and family there actually. I still live there," he said.
"I think it's a great city, not just the city, which has got a lot going for it, but the people as well. I've remained there and I've no real intentions of leaving it.

"It's got a terrific atmosphere. The only thing it needs now is Premier League football, that would really help.

"The stadium looks fantastic. As for the city, in my time, it's done nothing but improve - it's a beautiful place to live," said Jordan.
The former Leeds, AC Milan and Robins striker admires how Ashton Gate has developed over the last few years.
"I knew Steve Lansdown from my second spell there - Steve Lansdown has been there quite a while now. They've caught up again. Bristol City needed to reassess it, refurbish it and bring it up and [Steve] has certainly done that.

"With the development of the new stand and the previous ones as well, other than the capacity... It was needed, and Steve Lansdown has done a great job in putting them in that direction."
Jordan refused to be drawn on Lee Johnson, who the Scot will cross swords with when City play Boro next season
However, he did add that it will be difficult for anyone to get promotion from a tough league next season.

Always a good man for our cause, I agree with his thoughts about Mr Lansdown and the facets of Bristol City FC, I note he had nothing to say about Johnson jr which I understand, his comments about the Championship being tough are also correct.

Good bloke and always was quality for us, player and manager, unlike our present imcumbent.

Loved big Joe as a player for us and as a manager he wasn't bad, we just weren't in a good Soave then. If LJ did go we could do a lot worse than give Joe a 3rd go, his experience since he left us and his vast contacts would serve us well.

Wouldn't mind him back as Assistant Manager or coach. We could do a lot worse.
