Mr Magilton, 47, who is currently the manager of Northern Ireland's under-21 team, was charged with common assault. The court heard that Mr Magilton allegedly hit the teenager "a couple of slaps to the head and dragged her down the stairs by the arms". A defence lawyer said the accused "isn't accepting the allegations". He added that the "charge will be contested in full" and that his client gave a "full account" during police interviews. The judge turned down a request for a ban on the press naming Mr Magilton. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northe...=social&ns_campaign=bbcnews&ns_source=twitter
Not necessarily. He is an ex-footballer in a high profile role within the Northern Irish FA. He could have tried that and been guilty, or he could have tried that and been guilty but wanted no mud to stick. We can't automatically think that means guilt. If I was accused of something I hadn't done, I wouldn't want my name dragged through the mire.
And I completely disagree with naming someone who is innocent until proven, quite often completely f**** up their lives and close relatives lives totally wrong IMO!
