Equally he is managing the club at a time where players transfer fees and wages cost more than any other manager has had to face, he also has recouped more cash from player sales than any City manager ever has and by a considerable margin, JK going for 3 1/2 times our previous highest transfer fee. If you want to see the negatives then you always will, me, i"m more glass half full
Time, and only time will tell whether these players will save the day, or as RP says, even be given game time. If we still continue to lose most/all games then changes will still have to be made, but at least the club are trying to address the obvious shortcomings. WE STILL NEED A KEEPER AND A CENTRE BACK
Junior recouped Kodija's transfer fee ? Are you in dreamland ? Get real, he was a SC signing. You, Lansdown and every other clapper will catch up eventually, Junior is no more a manager than fly.
That is disingenuous. Mr Johnson has had the benefit of increasing the wage bill. Mr McInnes and Mr O'Driscoll had to reduce it, in the case of Mr O'Driscoll that reduction approached 60%. Mr Johnson is blessed with spending very large sums of money even before the sale of Kodjia that previous Managers were not. This is the age of largesse for the current Manager. He also has recouped more cash from player sales than any City manager ever ... The statement is untrue. Bristol City will not break even this season. Under the tenure of others the club has operated in the black. .
I don't care what anyone says, including Redprintt!! Looks to be a good signing and I think more to come... Well done LJ........
As said previously - Cotts had money to spend, bids for strikers between £4-8M depending on who you believe, the fact he did for players that would not come surely is a massive failing on his part?. LJ (and Aston) seem to identify players who will come to BCFC and sign them. Who knows if these two signings will succeed but from what I can see most fans wanted a keeper, centre half, defensive big midfielder and a target man. The first two signing meet two of those four positions and the players are the type of player required for those positions, combative big midfield who could play centre half to shield the defence and a big target man. We can all say we want a 30 goal striker and a Steven Gerrard in midfield, but considering we are BCFC in the Championship I think the club appear to have done well to get these two in - so well done and as supporters let hope they prove to be successes.
Clifton, how can you say he hasn't recouped more transfer fees than any other manger? If he hasn't , then name one who has, and I'll run naked down my local street. The fact we may not break even is a different issue.
The amount Mr Johnson supposedly has recouped is not vast. Managers in the past have also recouped transfers fees past transfer spending. Danny Wilson was one - the FC also operated occasionally in the black. Mr Johnson will probably spend more this season than he recoups, the FC will not operate at a profit, and Mr Johnson will be allowed far more spending on wages than the clubs income. Mr Johnson is being allowed to lose money, more money than others, and will. The clubs spending is completely linked to loss and debts. The clubs philosophy was dictated to by adherence to the five pillars and that loss/debt.
LJ is not "the manager" he is the head coach, of which for the first team we seem to have 3.. JP being referred to as the "assistant" head coach over the past couple of weeks ... and transfer fee's gained or spent are all relevant to a point in time ... a couple years ago JK would probably have been sold for £3m and likely he would only have cost £0.5k The Chinese and the prem money have greatly inflated prices in a short period of time ....
You are wasting your breath mate, Redprintt & co won't have a bad word said against Cott's potential signings/money spending, or lack of. The hatred mist towards LJ blinds them, no matter what he does to achieve great things for our club he will always be the player never forgiven, for his father playing him, even though he gave 100%, and by no means the worst player ever to play for our beloved club!!
Really? didn't he save us from relegation last season?? I'm not his biggest fan but credit where it is due!!
Banksy All Junior did was continue what Pemberton had started. As you say - Credit where credit's due. He's now the main man, spending zillions - may the Lord help us.
