Rumours abound Spuds have bid £38.5m for Aguero.....thats right, AGUERO! Remember the days when we were in Europe and bidding for the best in Europe? Eurgh. That wasn't too long ago, look at us now. Very depressing. It might be the rum but its hit me hard that we are taking nutters on loan and teams like Tottenham (!) are bidding for one of the best players in Europe!

Anyway, I think this deal may be a smokescreen for a proper Carroll bid. The players in Spain they have been linked with they won't get. Aguero could go to any team in the world, he's that good. Llorente is already going to Real in the summer, the deal has been agreed. Negredo is worse than what they have and Rossi wants to go to Italy. I can see them thinking that it'll be worth chucking a few extra quid our way for Carroll as he is a more realistic target. Normally I'd be open to a deal, especially if we were to get say £20m plus Pavlyuchenko but with our owner I doubt the money will be invested in the squad. What are your thoughts?

*braced for plenty of Pardew 'Andy is not for sale at any price' quotes*

i hope they do get aguero, it will keep them off carrol, i doubt its a smokescreen cos otherwise they wouldnt of actuelly made a bid, they would of just started rumours.

Can't they just leave us alone?! We made Andy the player he is today, he is a Newcastle fan born and bred. He wants to stay. I don't want 29 year old Pavlyuchenko and his slightly mulleted hairstyle ffs. Would be terrible if we let him go.

Redknapp: "I never made a bid for Andy Carroll" - said it today too.

Maybe he didn't, but his club certainly may have

Kevin Keegan could say that he made a bid for any player and he'd have been taking the mick, the club would have been the only ones informed each and every time
