I'll kick it off. Evans was on the radio today after the match. Says he wants to bring in quality (so no long shots), and specified a winger, plus improvements to 'the spine'. He also mentioned that he's like to see '3 or 4 signings', although I'm sure he reduced this to '2 or 3' later on in the conversation. Cellino is working on Evans' targets & is giving him regular updates. He also told us that Bridcutt has stated clearly that he wants to stay & that Sunderland were up for it. Apparently Big Sam has given his word to Evans & it should be rubber stamped on Monday. Lafferty was mentioned too, & Evans said he understood he was at the game, but "hadn't asked for a ticket, so must have paid to get in". From this, I take it that as well as Bridcutt, we're looking at a CB, striker (Lafferty?) & winger. Let the speculation begin ....
I heard Crouch was on the radar but wages would be the stumbling block, also read Liam Moore, he seems to pop up every transfer window.
Hopefully we've given up on the policy of signing ones for the future. They don't seem to materialise. Prefer the likes of Bridcutt with some pedigree. They're hard found in January though
Morning all. Bridcutt on a permanent would be good business. But we really need a proven goalscorer. One wonders what the chances are of bringing Beckford back. If we get Bridcutt, all we would need, apart from another striker, is some creativity in midfield. We've got enough CBs for now, but an addition in the main TW when we know where we're playing next season & how close we got to the play offs would be an immediate requirement
We need some quality strikers Lafferty was at the game yesterday he will add something new at set piecesand Josh Cummings will add pace and guile.I wish we could have bought Gray from Brum cheap as chips at £3.7M Bridcutt get him bought we can afford it when we sell Sam
Only 10 more to last seasons safety.Be surprised if Crouch is an option,as he's still a squad player for Stoke unless they bring in new players themselves.
As 10-15 points is an easy target to avoid the bottom 3,would hope we can build now for next season, with a few quality loans with options to buy if they live up to expectations.
Anthony Stokes - Possibly lazy journalism as we were said to be interested at the start of the season.
Let's get these out of the way before Boggers gets on it. Alan Smith, Bechio, Beckford, howson, snoddgrass, Milner and Delph.....
Massive fall out with his manager at Celtic I believe? Heard he was dropped and let his frustration out on Twitter http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/last-chance-saloon-anthony-stokes-7017735 scroll down that link and look at the baggage he has, thought he would be a better option than Lafferty but now not so sure...
Stokes baggage is well known. He can't get near a call up for Eire even for friendlies when we have players not available, I've mentioned this already but there's a lot more to signing a modern day footballer than what you see on YouTube clips. Are they positive or negative influences behind the scenes
Smith, Becchio - passed it. Milner & Delp - No chance. Wages issue. Beckford, Snoddy & Howson - Who knows? We're in the wrong league for Snoddy & Howson. But Beckford is still a possibility.
Sorry Boggers but I think you need to add Beckford to the "past it" list. Was great for us but lets leave the past where it is.
