Yeah but there's a massive difference between the guys that watch the game as analysts and your average fan who thinks he could do a better job than the current manager.

Remember, most of the players put into the game have already been on the game for a number of years, so they simply tweak the stats to suit the reports.

Enhances my point. How do they maintain consistency between them all?

Joking aside, the base stats on the whole do seem to be reasonably rational.

Go on, say it another 4 times, it'll still be incorrect.

Has anybody on here ever claimed that their use of football manager/fifa/Pro evo/ISS98 has had any influence on their opinion of a player?

Do you not understand how any company maintains consistency in reporting? Auditing.

So it's a coincidence that pretty much all the youngsters on the game that turn out to be quality on there turn out to be very good footballers in real life too? That's a lot of coincidences.

There's a very easy way of maintaining consistency, it's called auditing every single entry, which is what they'll be doing right now ready for the next game/patch whatever comes next.

They don't own up. They pretend it's knowledge picked up "live".

As a full time job I'm not sure that's that difficult.

On an anonymous internet forum with 0 credibility, to people one has never met about a player nobody has heard of in the hope that they'd be taken seriously. Seems legit.

How many hours a day do these scouts work in order to collect accurate date from 540 individuals a year.

It isn't, but 1300 is how many they have employed full time working for SI. That probably doesn't include the volunteers and scouting reports from other clubs. I'll ask the scout at Ferriby, they must have asked him about it or sent somebody down to watch.

So I'm glad you know how consistency meetings and the checks and balances work.

How many players can a scout accurately assess during a game?

Over how many games will he need to watch a player in order to get an accurate assessment?

    How do they incorporate form.

You're best off asking a professional scout, there's plenty of examples of how scouting works on the internet. But if you had one scout watching Brighton, for example, he could watch them for 46 games, plus preseason, plus cup games. The team might also already have some players on record, so it's a case of watching them and seeing how they have developed (or not, in some cases). It wouldn't take long to see how their prospective stats would have changed.

But that's one team maybe 40 players

He has another 500 to do.
