Lamime Kone - Sunderland Suarez - Kept through a couple of Windows against the players wishes Rooney - Wanted away from Old Trafford, where is he now? Benteke - At Villa wanted away amidst interest from Spurs. He ended up staying and signing a revised contract. Only leaving later in his career when Liverpool came knocking. Odemwingie - Well documented. Ronaldo - Real Madrid only got him a year later than they wanted Schneiderlin - Quoted on Twitter - 6 years at an amazing club destroyed in 1 hour. As they wouldn't let him leave to follow Pochettino to Spurs. Charlie Adam - Blackpool transfer request in Jan - left for Liverpool in July. After the season ended. Berahino - He's wanted to leave for about 2 seasons now. WBA have denied him that move. Gareth Barry - 2004 handed in a transfer request amidst interest from Fulham and Liverpool. Villa rejected it, he remained at Villa for 5 more seasons until Man City made a move. Wanyama - He had to wait another season for his move to Spurs. Players don't always get what 'they' want. Some clubs hang on to players and only let them move on when they see fit. I've no issue with Abel leaving in the summer, but the club needs to be firm and hang onto him until then.
Abel Hernandez's agent has reportedly landed in China in order to thrash out a £16.8m deal with Beijing Guoan. According to Italian football news outlet CalcioMercato, the Chinese Super League outfit are willing to meet Hull City's evaluation of the striker and Oscar Bentancourt has travelled to China to deal with the offer and negotiate a contract for the Uruguayan. http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/live...0160439-detail/story.html#JkDKIBh0d5DHitpz.99
I agree with you about the amount of strikers, and I'm normally against us losing players in this position (certainly Livermore and Snodgrass). But Abel isn't going to keep us up. He's incredibly unreliable. One week he'll score and we all think he's ace then the next week he doesn't touch the ball because it's too cold or because the defenders are being too nasty to him or the service isn't just right or the kickoff was too early. Everything has to be just so, or he doesn't turn up. Look at his record this season; how much time has he spent out injured with innocuous knocks? I'm sure other players in our squad would play at 95% when they don't quite feel right (and probably get criticised for not being at their absolute best) whereas Hernandez just gives himself a few weeks off. And they're offering £18m? That's a massive fee for us and could make a difference in terms of the debt and the ownership situation even if it's not reinvested on players. He's not worth half of that to us.
Sky Sources: Shandong Luneng remain interested in signing Ashley Young before Chinese transfer window closes on Tuesday.
£18m is peanuts compared to PL survival. Hernandez looked decent against Bournemouth. That's what he can do, if he can do that in 2 or 3 more games this season then I'd be happy with that. I'd say he's worth a lot to us in terms of squad depth between now and the end of the season. I still wouldn't sell him. I don't buy into this 'moody' bollocks. Do you have a psychiatrist on the inside? He always seems relatively happy on the pitch and not this ginormous sulk you try to portray.
It's just based on his performances. People sometimes give a player more leeway for a bad performance if he scores goals at other times, which I think is why it rarely gets mentioned. Hernandez is undoubtedly a top finisher which means he scores goals when he gets chances. But 2 out of 3 games he plays he doesn't actually get chance to have a shot because he's not put the work in to get in the box or to fight for the ball so we actually get up the pitch. Then he waves his arms around as if to publicly blame all the other players who are actually trying a lot harder, for not giving him loads of chances. That combined with the fact he misses so many games due to minor injuries is the reason he'd barely done anything up to the Bournemouth game this season, and hasn't done anything since.
Honestly, I think you're looking for issues that don't exist. Just my view. He's worked hard on the pitch, whilst not scoring. It really would be ridiculous selling him at this stage of the season - really ridiculous.
