    Quite right. Especially as top 4 teams only tend to lose somewhere between 4 and 9 games in a season, converting 5 of them would be huge.
    I think Wenger's done a great job for Arsenal, keeping them consistent, but I agree that for a long time he's been unable to build on that. Fans will always want their team to push on and make a serious challenge for the title, and in Arsenal's case, make some sort of progress in the CL - for a team that regularly makes it in there they just don't seem to have got the hang of it all.
    The problem for Arsenal is that, like investments, a new manager could go up or down. They might push on, or they might do a post-Fergie Utd. Or even worse.

    That's the crux of the matter. Do you want to just float around doing not too bad or do you want to go out with a bang.

    If you're a business person, steady profits are a good thing (see the arsenal board).

    If you are a football fan, getting top 4 is not what you strive for (it may be the building blocks). If you were guaranteed top 4 but no title challenge plus a spanking in the CLs whilst your club manager decided he didn't want to overpay in a market that keeps raising the market bubble, even you would get fed up.

    Rather give it a go than go out with a whimper. The on redeeming factor is Wenger has been winning FA cup trophies recently so maybe the fans should be a bit more grateful

    I don't think Arsenal is that behind, for the past twenty odd years they have been in position in the league not less than 4th. Maybe he does not know what he is talking about.
