Things could easily change if safe standing is taken up, and prices are lowered as a result, crowds could be increased without having to extend the stadium. Of course this (safe standing), could be scrapped as the 'Big Clubs' are already building there super stadiums
Ticket sales and earnings are completely different things, Peter Kay's total net worth is the same as Messi's annual income, they're on completely different levels.
He's worth about 50 million. A lot of footballers are worth less. The discussion was about the PL and SKY 's effect on them. Messi doesn't play here and his earnings aren't down to Sky's input.
As crowds are at an all time high extending the stadiums isn't a concern to the football authorities, especially in the PL where over 95% of tickets are sold.
If you're only interested in the premier league then the answer is no. Those clubs and their fans in the 1st and 2nd divisions may see it different, don't get started on the non league level where loads give up their time to coach kids and play the game but can't afford to buy the kit.
In the past week we have had the humility of Jermaine Defoe, and the crass insensitivity of Loocarcoo behaving like a lout in USA with his new bezzie Paul Pogba. Far too many of those young men have lost all touch with reality.
True. If Sky didn't have Rugby league super rugby and NFL I would ditch it. I do begrudge my money going to these types.
One year all the clubs in the PL should donate half their TV money to Cancer research. Or to the NHS. Or to the education sector. 20 clubs each donating £50m to a worthy cause voted for by the people. Clubs would, for that season, focus on signing free transfers and giving youth a chance. It'd mean one season without any Sky Sports ****ing over giant transfer fees and would encourage the use of academy players and the purchasing of lower league players who wouldn't cost as much.
If Sky's starting to struggle with subscription figures we may well see the rights deals plateau or decline. Even if Bein or someone else won the rights.
In the context of Sky etc. you're right it doesn't I was referring to the players manipulating the game by diving etc
Is that legit? He's the laziest, ****test stand-up on the circuit: "Do you remember when we put wallpaper on our school books?" Hilarious.
Do you not watch films? Listen to music? Watch stand up comedy? All those have the people at the top making stupid amounts of money.... Are the ruined?
