I didn't watch the game so don't know for sure, but doesn't Ronaldo usually take 5th in shootouts for Portugal? I've never understood the reasoning that it is the most pressure pen as quite often the 5th taker doesn't get to take one. I'd always have my best penalty taker 1st or 3rd
Perhaps it is explained by the case of Le Tiss being involved in a penalty shoot-out against ManU, back in the early 1990's. He was allocated a spot as one of the early penalty takers, but he said he wanted to go at the end where it would be really pressured and he'd get all the glory. In the event he was never needed because we saved loads of ManU penalties and scored all of ours. So he completely missed out. Just like C.Ronaldo.

Thought Cedric would be on his holibobs, but no.....3/4th play off on Sunday. Ronaldo will miss it because of the birth of his twins....weird way for a young man to behave....having children by surrogate. Guess he couldn't find anyone he loved as much as himself.
The Ronaldo penalty thing is nothing tactical about 'most pressured penalty', it's far more 'most likely to be the glory penalty'
Blow for Forster. Not on his best form, but he's usually pencilled in as England aren't blessed with keepers.
