Hello, Canary fan in peace........................ Following a discussion on the Ipswich board a few days ago I would like you guys to come up with as many players from between 1970 to the present day who have been awarded FULL international caps (while playing for your team). Not u18, u21 etc - Any country. I do not intend to turn this into a discussion type of thread or any kind of competition between our 2 clubs - just for interest, and maybe some surprises along the way as we go down memory lane. If you can give me the name, country and approx year (in that order)
Lets compare internations between the two sides, we have 7, and one more who is about to leave, so 8 last season * Somma - South Africa * McCormack - Scotland * Gradel - Ivory Coast (squaddie) * Kisnorbo - Australia * Schemichal - Denmark (just called up) * Snodgrass - Scotland * Nunez - Honduras (Their hero) you barely have 1 Hoolahoop ooo and Loft?
From 1970 to today?! Bloody hell, we could be here for weeks. Martin Jarred's book 'Leeds United Internationals: For Club and Country' (link) says there have been 112 in LUFC's history representing 23 different countries. Before 1970, I doubt we'll have had more than 30 internationals in our history. The book was published in 2009 so you can probably add another ten or so onto the provisional figure of 82. So I'd say we've had around 90 internationals since 1970, just a rough estimate though. How many are Norwich and Ipswich claiming?
I wernt including loan signins, if I did then there's * Lichaj (USA) * Bannan (Scotland) * McCartney (Ireland)
