I'm sure Jermain will be explaining this to him until one of them is used as a sub.

    England lineup + bench :

The road to white shirts and navy blue shirts as main kit, continues.

Does Vardy have a particularly short stud in? He seems to be finding it difficult to keep his footing.

That is dizziness caused by short passes to him coming into the box
not 20 feet over his head.

How are they calling that a handball?
Cahill's arms are tight to his body and the ball would hit it if it didn't hit his arm. Not for me.

38 appearances, so far this season, 20 starts, joint 2nd most appearances in the United squad.
Maybe we should start him every game and burn him out like other clubs do when they find a good young un <ok>

It was nice of them to let him score on his last game for Germany, wasn't it?

Yes, they've let him have a game to say farewell and thanks. We've allowed Rooney over a decade.

I thought it was a good gesture...keeper could have thrown his hat on it.

Fairly pleased with that. Plenty of work to be done, the 4 across midfield were too conservative for my liking, with the wingbacks hanging back and neither Dier or Jake really suited to playmaking.

Finally an England manager sets us up like a Premier League side though! Halle-****in'-lujah! Well done, Southgate. He's already better than the last 3 managers we've had for longer than a month.

    The real question to Cahill
"Gary, you managed to turn out of the way of that shot really well, what was going through your mind when it was coming right at you"

No Rooney as playmaker/centre half/lucky gonk. Players played in familiar positions. Players picked irrespective of whether they play for 'big' clubs.

It can't last. This is far too sensible for the England team.

I slept through a very ordinary England team losing to Germany B.
I'll try to contain my excitement at the prospect of England having a chance of exiting the World Cup after the second week as plucky losers - rather than being humiliated by countries with the population of Blackpool (out of season).

If he was starting regularly, he would have started tonight's game - especially with Harry Kane out injured.

Who are you to doubt our press? Just how many times over the decades have they said that a player's international ambitions are stunted due to a lack of playing time? And just look at the evidence: Rashford is playing second fiddle to a one-season wonder in a match against the reigning World Cup winners.

Or being rested in a testimonial so he will be ready for the qualifier?
If I was a player who started tonight I might worry a little bit :emoticon-0100-smile

So you;re saying that Defoe will be starting in the qualifier, as he wasn't risked at all to keep him fresh?

Probably for the best, he's a guaranteed starter for his club, rather than playing second fiddle to someone slumming it in Manchester for a year before topping up their pension in MLS...
