Given his reported comments about Magath, it would have been unbelievable if he had joined us. I agree that he's a good player, but would you want to leave out Hyndman (for example) to accommodate him? It's time to let the youngsters bed themselves in and get games under their belts.

I haven't seen (or don't remember) those comments Captain. There have been so many players coming out with negative comments about Felix that it's impossible to keep track.

I don't think he'd take Hyndman's place in the midfield though. Hyndman is a creator, Kvist is a defensive mid. He'd be in direct competition with Hoogland for the anchor role. If lets say Voser gets an injury, Hoogland will have to move back to RB leaving us with Fotheringham as the only other option in defensive midfield. Hoogland played well in DM but I think Kvist is a better player. Parker probably won't play all 46 games so we need more cover in there, Kvist in my opinion would have been ideal.

I know it's too early to call but I think we only have 6 players that are good enough to play regularly in CM; Parker, Hyndman, LVC, Hoogland, David and Eisfeld. The latter two are almost considered forwards so I think we're incredibly light in midfield.

If only we had a highly rated youngster who can play at right back, possibly named Jack...

Agree with the lack of midfield depth though. Maybe Ruiz and Zverotic are seen as midfield cover?

Good points about him competing with Hoogland rather than Hyndman, and about the danger of injuries, FI. I might have misremembered his comments, but I seem to recall that Kvist was one of the many who, on leaving the club, commented negatively. Perhaps I've got that wrong, but it certainly seemed from Magath's team selections last season that he wasn't as keen on Kvist as many of us were. His return was never likely.

Against Cardiff Hoogland seemed to fit well in the DMF rule, sitting in front on the defense, he allowed Parker Hyndman to go forward more (and Parker had more shots on goal), and allowed the fullbacks to get forward as he dropped back and we went to a back three. We seem to have a range of young Central defenders, Burn Bodurov seemed a good combination, but if Hoogland is injured or moved to RB again, maybe Bodurov could fill that DMF role.

FM has definitely gone for versatility over specialists in some of his signings. I see Zverotic as a Chris Baird. Good in defence and midfield.

I think it would benefit Grimmer more to go out on loan and play regularly than play for our U21s and wait for injuries to our first teamers. I reckon he'll be playing his football in League One. Maybe if do have some injuries he'd be recalled but Felix started the season with Hoogland at RB so I think that's what he'd revert to if Voser got injured.

Can't see him there SuperBri. He's fine as a 'stopper' inside the penalty box. However he's not very mobile and terribly one footed - evidenced particularly in the final 10 minutes of the Millwall and Cardiff games.

    This may reflect Felix's feelings:

"Vahid Halilhodzic turned down the opportunity to sign the Fulham striker Konstantinos Mitroglou according to LigTV. The Bosnian manager decided against signing the Greek international due to his lack of pace and opted to sign Abdul Majeed Waris from Spartak Moscow instead."
