Did i say they dont try? THey certainly do

I believe they may see benefit in a bit more investment t go for 1st.

Players who may previously have left - may see the chance for a trophy/European place at that club and stay longer, whereas now they may leave

Teams may step it up if Rangers were no more

the situation is the same as every other walk of life, one of the big dogs dies, somebody always steps up <ok>

there may be wealthy fan of Aberdeen or Dundee United willing to take a bit of a punt in taking his club to the next level.

A russian Billionaire may see a chance.

none of us know what will happen, but what we do know is that Celtic is dependant on no club, we will go on, and I suspect the rest of the SPL will aswell.

Maybe Rangers will do this ...

But if not - not saying the will go to the wall (I doubt it) - then it's start from scratch! No matter what your 5 stars across your knuckles say!

If you want to be really honest, Aberdeen and Dundee United actually have more European history and in my opinion, are much more respected clubs than Rangers, outside of britain.

Sleeping Giants and a great opportunity for a Russian Gangster with a vision.

Can't be arsed reading pages of pish. Celtic will survive if Rangers disappear.

But they will not survive as a club of their current size. They will only have to beat the SPL also-rans in order to win a league devoid of Sky and sponsorship money. They will not be able to maintain current squad size, calibre of player or attendance. They will not be able to attract new investment, quality players or sponsorship at current levels.

Lawwell has repeatedly done just enough to try and be better than Rangers on the field. Why would this change? They would only need to be better than Motherwell and Dundee United.

Investing in a squad for Europe is a massive risk as the last few seasons have shown **** all return on that front. Celtic would be wholly responsible for Scotland's coefficient (when was the last time any team outwith the Old Firm did anything in Europe?). This will make qualification for Champion's League nigh-on impossible in the future. Europa Cup has **** all money by comparison.

Only the dumbest of ****s cannot see this.

    Mostly a sensible post.

The bit in bold is what ra berrz have been saying for years.

In actual fact, we've been buying just enough to stay solvent within current revenue streams<ok>

If Rangers disappeared completely (which they won't), Celtic would be worse off in the long run but they wouldn't disappear.

Only the dumbest of ****s would think that <ok>

You said they would all be more competitive trying to get 2nd than they are now towards 3rd place.

So these teams will only try if they know they're in with a good chance of fishing 2nd.

Who honestly would challenge Celtic if Rangers were out of the mix?

Who knows. But it won't be your vile lot, that's for sure, so it's really none of your concern.

    **** off now, there's a good lad.

Medro, instead of obsessing about your fantasies that Celtic will somehow die if Rangers do, why don't you care about the fact that Rangers have a much, much, much higher chance of dying within the next month <ok>

So you don't think Rangers will be challenging for 2nd place next season?

All the other teams in the league are miles behind in terms of quality compared to the OF.

Neither Rangers or Celtic will die, I have stated that time and time again. Yet there are plenty of Celtic fans thinking we will. IF that did happen Celtic would go not long after us.
