They are right though. It is just like Hampstead. All the :afro::afro::afro: live just down the road.

That's my old local in the picture from when I worked at Yorkie Bank Data Centre across the road. That's actually a proper street outside it, so must be a street party type of thing. Prolly Leeds supporters celebrating LL getting kicked out of JA <whistle>

The Regent was a decent pub, havent been in for years.
I presume you saw in the article the yorkshire bank has gone/is going.
If you like a bit of thai food sukothai opposite is great, as is the thai place that opened up in what used to be the police station. They kept the cells and its quite a talking point when your table is behind the peephole cell door (took the rear wall of the cells out).

When I was there (94-96), it wasn't developed at all restaurant-wise. For eating out, there was the Regent, Mustard Pot & the pub beside the cop shop whose name I've forgotten (dump). Further up the road there was the pizza joint that Egon Ronay declared to be the best in the UK.

I was actually in one of those cells, btw. No, I wasn't visiting Shako! :D I got dropped off an hour early for my YB interview & got caught short. Coppers wouldn't allow me to use their toilet, but offered up a cell. That's how good the Chapel Allerton facilities were then. Changed days now.
