    I haven't got a problem with rules being 'properly' implemented - especially all the aggression by the players towards the officials ( that's my job ) - but -
    Why isn't this being applied to the professional game -- you know - the players who are supposed to know what they're doing - as opposed to only punishing players at 'grassroots' level.

    I do agree that such rules should apply to all levels of football, the thing with this rule is that physical assault on officials is very common at the lower/grass-roots level, whilst it is almost unheard of at the higher levels. I'm not sure as I can't even remember the last time the ref was assaulted at professional levels but the FA would probably adopt a very long ban anyway.
