why on Earth did Hughes put Shawcross straight into the side?, the defense had been playing well why change it?, what incentive is there for players to play well when they know that even if they play well they will be dropped. very poor in my opinion. I thought we deserved something from the game yesterday and we conceeded 2 very poor goals. Diouf is absolutely ****e and needs getting rid in the summer, its quite plain to see he couldnt hit a cows arse with a banjo. Not a bad performance and Hughes and Diouf have to take a lot of responsibility for what happened yesterday. Take nothing away from Southampton though they are still a very good team but I think that they will struggle to hold onto Pelle.who seems class
My thoughts re Ryan too Ricc, bring him on as sub...sure. But the defence has been working well, so if it ain't broke don't fix it. One thing about us is our only consistency is our inconsistency. As for Hughes - nope, not goung to say it
Very disappointed with the result and the performance. I agree with Ricc re Shawx and players earning a spot, however I don't think Wolly should be allowed any where near our back four so I suppose it depends on your view on players. Butland made mistakes but when your defence allows 15 shots with half a dozen on target, the chances are you are going to concede. Shaq was a big miss and Diouf struggled again but I stand by my view that if you have that amount of money in a striker then you have to try and play him through it - In his defence he doesn't get a lot of opportunities, its just the ones that are - are golden which makes it look worse. I've always questioned a lot of MH's team selections from day 1, and feel he tinkers too much when we are inform and leaves it when we have obvious issues - but its a game of opinions! The frustrating thing is we have missed a golden opportunity to finish higher than ever in terms of points and position, yet we may struggle to stay in the top 10.
hopefully bringing Shawcross back straight away is a sign that Mr Hughes isn't happy with the defence and will look to strengthen it at the end of the season. I wonder how much it would cost us to get Huth back.
Hopefully zero. He thought he was bigger than the club, left for more money to be No2 at Chelsea. Enjoy yer paydays Bego
Nick, He's had plenty of time to spend his money, moreover when he did play it showed that our defence was what made him look so good.
Put your grievances to one side and address the question, the fact that Jack is about to sign a new contract, doubtless with a minimum buy-out clause of mega millions, is surely the prelude to his summer move to a 'big' club. My guess is that Bego would be happy to come back as no. 1 Or am I talking thro' my medicine ?
No grievance for me either, he came, he played, he plonkered. Bego was good for us and I was sorry to see him go but (and that's a Kardashian sized butt) he moved on and we have been no worse off in my opinion with Butland in goal. We speculated over Bego going for 2 or 3 years before it happened, I don't think any of the big clubs need a replacement goalie just now, it would be better for them to let him learn his craft at a place where he will be kept busy and will be first choice keeper. Just my opinion of course.
A thread for things we don't understand....... I've got one, why the hell is that pussy Imbula wearing gloves! WTAF
