It's the Humber Street Sesh on Saturday. I've never been before but looking forward to it. Never heard of any of the bands (although I did catch a bit of Life at the Big Weekend, wasn't overly impressed). Does anybody have any recommendations of acts to look out for?
It's mainly local acts Obviously massively depends on your choice of music, but I like Black Delta Movement, Kingmaker, Audio Sub Scene, Hubbards, Happy Endings (I think they played Glastonbury this year) No Nothing's, Holy Orders, Pearls Cab Ride, Fonda 500, Bud Sugar, Fire the unstoppable Force We've been every year since the first one Cracking day and Mark Page who kicked it off is a top bloke (he was DJing at Food Festival t'other night)
Err No the Mark Page (Mak) of Sesh at Linnet / Polar Bear fame Anyway make sure you riff raff stay clear of the VIP areas please
Could I suggest you go armed with £5 notes. It will make your day much easier. Think of them as green beer tokens.
Forgot them They're getting quite a good reputation nationally actually (was discussing them with Sesh organisers recently)
Pavey ark and mighty and the moon for some nice folk music early on. Then get twatted and get stage front for some more heavy sweaty stuff for me. As per last year
Any other recommendations ? And can a mod make this a match day thread for the day ? Kingmaker are playing, but at the same time I'm meeting our lass, I jokingly said I'll have to meet her abit later after they have finished. She threw a right hissy fit when I showed her my favourites list on the app, guess I won't be seeing them then lol
She needs to be more tolerant Personally I tend to view Sesh as a musical Pick n Mix. There'll be a few that's I'll stand and watch all through but it really depends on the day, the stage, the crowd, the atmosphere. Just chuck yourself in and go with the flow...just steer the flow roughly around your favourites list...and if she won't watch Kingmaker with you then perhaps it was never meant to be I've given my list earlier, which is pretty comprehensive, but I might miss loads of them and I might watch someone I've never heard of yet. Weather looks good by the way Just enjoy it
Dead Hormones: Mint: Indigo Velvet: Blackwaters: The Hubbards: Chambers: Life: Fronteers (on same time as Life though), are also really good:
Just had an app alert flash up saying something about an accident but it vanished before I read it Anyone know anything ?
