Is the Next store to be one of those 'outlet' ones? You know, where they try and sell all the spare stock from regular shops?

You like to point out when others are wrong on anything, or you think, mistakenly, they are wrong.but get upset when anyone points out yours. When they do you normally try and make out it wasn't what you actually said or meant.
    How sad.

Back on point and I think Princes Quay basically needs anyone it can get in there, particularly something different to what already exists in the city centre, and it really can't be choosy about who takes space there. That notwithstanding, who the **** shops at a Next outlet? I would never even consider buying clothes from Next, never mind the out of season **** they couldnt sell first time around. I think it should be looking to attract homeware stores, such as Homesense or Zara Home. Has Hull city centre got either of them?

Next is the second biggest clothing retailer in the U.K., so obviously plenty of people like shopping there, they're also an anchor tenant at Cheshire Oaks, one of the two top outlet sites in the country. It's exactly the sort of tenant they needed.

Yes. Some people fall into the trap of thinking that what they like is what there should be. Some look down on things, coming out with remarks about what is popular doesn't mean better and they compare a Michelin starred restaurant to McDonald's. I wouldn't go to a McDonald's, a KFC or Burger King but lots do The thing is stores like Next attract shoppers and maybe some of these will be tempted by higher end stores in the same building.

Was in New Forest earlier this year and went for a look round the dockyards. Nearby is the Gunwharf Quays shopping centre. A excellent mixture of shops, 90, and 30 restaurants, cafes and bars which makes great use of the waterside setting.
Portsmouth is a smaller place than Hull and from what I heard away from the dockyard and Gunwharf Quay area not that attractive a place but the Gunwharf shops were rammed with people spending money in shops where my wife looks at the prices, shakes her head and moves on. The thing is there is a mixture there. We don't have the numbers coming into visit Hull, lacking an attraction like the Dockyard (which I,would recommend to anyone who finds themselves in the vicinity), so won't support as large a centre perhaps, but it shows the sort of mixture Hull should be aiming for.

They should knock the place down and revert it back to a Dock with the few remaining shops that are still in there relocated to the many empty units in the city centre.

Apologies, I thought it was obvious that people who shop at Next will also shop at a Next Outlet store.

Why is it obvious? The outlet concept sells items that they couldn't shift to customers at the regular concept store. So why would a Next customer suddenly want to buy the items that they didn't want to buy previously?
